Looks like I spoke too soon... Battery issue: ...

Nevermind, fixed it by doing it all again but this time with no hiccups.

"Too many attempts. Fingerprint scanner disabled."

Anyone else seeing this message after just having the phone in their jeans?

Sure hope the ability to have the phone automatically turn the speaker on is made possible on 12.

I found that it was eating up the battery, the developers forgot to disable OTA, the native firmware update, it constantly downloads updates and periodically displays an update window. The traffic is consumed by the part of the system application responsible for OTA with UID1061. I suppose that when changing the firmware to PixelExpiriens from the stock Pixel, they removed all the possibilities of disabling the native OTA.

I had the same. Battery life was bad because of exactly the reason you specify - the device was trying to download OTA in a never-ending loop. This killed my battery as it was trying to do that over mobile data;

It is easily solved by editing the hosts file for the device and adding entries as per the below:

Code:
127.0.0.1 ota.googlezip.net
127.0.0.1 ota-cache1.googlezip.net
127.0.0.1 ota-cache2.googlezip.net

Alternatively, the latest commit on the eleven branch addresses this too. You can then build this from source using the instructions here and it works perfectly when flashed by TWRP.

My battery life went from about 5 hours to about 36 hours after applying the hosts file entry and stayed the same after applying the source built ROM.

been trying to figure this out for literally months. Now to figure out where host file located. Ok got the host file and had to copy it to my pc to edit it. I hope I did it correctly.

Apparently using adaway erases it

I love how my phone works BUT, my battery dies in 5-6 hours with this rom. Even when i'm going to sleep it drains 40% approx. Does any1 know any decent rom with normal battery usage?
