Magisk Don't work kindly provide the boot.img
Which Magisk are you using? Latest version 21.1 works flashing in TWRP. I tried earlier Magisk versions 20.x and they caused bootloops. I did the following:
- Flash latest factory images for walleye from Google, boot
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot boot twrp-3.3.0-0-walleye.img
- Wipe data/factory reset inside TWRP
adb push [evolutionzip] /sdcard/Download
adb push Magisk-v21.1.zip /sdcard/Download
- Install [evolutionzip] inside TWRP
- Install Magisk-v21.1.zip inside TWRP
- From TWRP Reboot->Power Off
- Power on Pixel 2
Latest Magisk (21.1 is what I used at the time of this post)
Installed this build bugs I found are mentioned below
- While First Setup Getting device ready page takes soo long and I have to go back and start again
-UI lags alot I can't play 8 ball pool it just stucks out of nowhere
- Soundcloud Playback breaks the a lot of things including back gesture pull down notifications, other music Playback are fine
- Haven't tried pubg but seems fine
- Instagram Lags too.
Rest is all fine, Thank You for your work on this device and I have rooted this too. With Magisk v21.1

I have to say this is the best work on a ROM that I have seen in years. I went about installing it a little differently than mentioned above and got Magisk working on it. The process does have to start out by restoring your Pixel 2 to the latest/final official firmware. The link method described in the Google Developer site works fine on my Pixel 2 but I have to use the Android Flash tool on my Pixel 2 XL. After enabling usb debugging in Developer options, I fastboot boot the lastest TWRP recovery img. Once in TWRP, I format data, then wipe data in Advanced Wipe, then factory reset in Wipe. I then click Advanced on the main TWRP screen, click ADB Sideload, and swipe the bar at the bottom. Then to my laptop and open a command prompt in platform tools. Type adb Sideload, then drag the ROM zip into the command prompt from wherever I have it stored. Click enter. Wait and let it finish. Then back in TWRP, click ADB Sideload. Repeat the process for the canary version of Magisk. Then reboot system. If Magisk isn't in the app drawer, make sure you install the canary Magisk manager and open it. If the Magisk zip shows as not installed, go back and boot TWRP again and in TWRP, ADB Sideload the canary Magisk zip again. Reboot system. Reopen Magisk Manager, and it should show a yes beside installed for the Magisk zip.

Is anyone else having UI lagging issues when waking up from doze or issues with the "Ok Google" hotword not working with the screen off?
Yes to both! Good ROM otherwise, lots of features I was missing on stock.
On the Pixel 2 XL thread for this ROM he says he is busy with school atm
For those of you experience UI lag especially after waking the phone, I just flashed ElementalX v4.08 using TWRP and it seems to have fixed the issues.
I had already rooted with Magisk 21.1 and retained root through the kernel flash. I did the following:
I still do not have OK Google working with the screen off.

Welp apparently it has been too long since I have done this as I have gotten my phone stuck on the white google boot screen
I'm using twrp-3.4.0-1-taimen and ElementalX-P2-4.09 and followed your instructions. Is there anything else that I may have missed to get me here?

I flashed Elemental X 4.0.8 on my P2 walleye using TWRP 3.3.0.0.
Elemental X 4.0.9 just came out yesterday and in the patch notes it is based on the December update from Google which was just released. It says you must have a December security patched system image to use that kernel. This ROM is based on the November security patch so I don't think it will work!
