me too , have you repaired it ? thanksMy /data was encrypted and after installing the latest OTA update my phone went into the dreaded bootloop. No problems here, I run my phone as ephemeral so formatting /data isn't a big issue. TWRP can't mount the /data partition, but it can format it, which got me out of the bootloop and booting correctly.
My only issue is now future OTA updates will possibly lead to the same issue when the recovery can't mount the /data partition. To avoid this, I tried installing OrangeFox and PBRP, as suggested by @joeyhuab, but for some weird reason I can't seem to make either boot correctly. If I revert to TWRP 3.5.2_9-0, I can boot into the recovery, but I have no way of mounting /data and thus, most likely, no way of OTA updating without having to nuke the partition every time.
Does anyone have a fix for this?
C'est le risque, j'ai mis une empreinte, et ca l'a rechiffré.
Since I can't flash either file by using pcFor now, if you cannot mount /data and other partitions, please flash:
- Naveen Johnson's PBRP
- His unofficial OFOX
So that all partitions would mount properly. This is important for encrypted users having issues with partition mounting.
My apologies for the inconvenience caused by switching device trees. Didn't realize it could possibly affect encrypted users as I've been unencrypted from the start.
Okay I'll try that. Thanksuse this Recovery
save it to your PC, then on recovery mode on your phone format the data to f2fs then reboot to recovery, check if you can mount data now, then enable MTP to transfer the recovery zip above from your PC to your phone the then flash it
this is what I've done to fix mount issue on recovery (I have no USB OTG)
Could you please share the 4.7 ROM please? There are several people in the telegram group looking for the rom including myself. It has already been removed from SF and nobody seems to help... Thank you!
I managed to boot with encryption, this is what I did based on the tutorial I read from telegram group.Went through quite a few steps from https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-evolution-x-06-21-2021.4179163/post-85241343
to finally get the storage visible in both orange fox and system. Had to enable 'DFE' in Orange fox even though the instructions don't mention this and I didn't want to disable encryption.
After setup I attempted to 'Encrypt Phone' but this seemed to result in a crash and then failure to boot to system - having to wipe again.
Edit: if I don't enable dfe from Orange fox the phone is encrypted, however I do not get prompted to decrypt in Orange fox, thus can't see any data. It complains about not being able to find the crypto footer in /data.
Therefore all flashing needs to be done using an external PC and tool. Perhaps I should have stayed with twrp given I want/need to use encryption.
