Redmi K20 Pro
Greetings. Im having issue where i am able register a new fingerprint from the setting, but it keeps giving me fingerprint not recognised on lockscreen. This problem suddenly always occuring since this morning and I have re registered fingerprint and reebooted a couple of times to no avail. I am running PXEXP plus raphael 11 0-20210418 049 OFFICIAL. It would be great if the solution doesnt involve re flashing. Thank you very much.

update: I re flashed and it starts working correctly. But as soon as i added a new fingerprint from setting, all fingerprints are cant be recognised anymore on the lockscreen.

update2: Am i going crazy or it just doesnt correctly scan fingerprints only at night. Because from morning to evening Im just not encountering this problem. Thank you

My problems with this build:
AOD at certain light blinking from low to high brightness
Fingerprint unlock often not available and have to unlock with code- this drives me crazy.
Also the need to press enter after code sucks :)

Facing issue with Fingerprint lock.
Need help \ Fix
I can register my finger under the setting and complete the process but once the screen is locked I can't use my fingerprint to unlock the phone.
I've tried many ways even registering the same thumb 5 times but the result is the same that I can't unlock my phone using the fingerprint sensor.

I can't access recovery too and having the same exact issue.
It boots me into fastboot.
Anyone can help?
Yes I can. First thing flash miui 12 android 10 ROM from mi flash. Then install the recovery through PC and load into it. Wipe Cache, Dalvik/ART Cache, System, Data. Don't wipe vendor. Then flash miui 12.5 android 11 firmware first and then flash pixel experience ROM. And lastly, do format data. Personally, it helped me, I don't know how it will work out for you.

1.flash orangefox via fastboot first
2.manually reboot into recovery with volume up+power
3.then copy the orangefox.zip into the internal storage and flash it again from the recovery.
4.reboot back into recovery and then flash the rom.
5.if still no joy, factory reset from orangefox by typing yes to confirm(not wipe) and follow from step 3 onwards
What part isn't clear in "it flashes successfully but it won't boot me to recovery"?
I can't boot to TWRP or OrangeFox after flashing them. Both don't work.
If I press power + vol up it boots me straight into fastboot...

Hi developer,

I'm using pixel experience on redmi K20 Pro.

The fingerprint sensor doesn't work when the nightlight is turned on.

Kindly fix this bug.

Before I make any complaints about bugs, I would like to thank you for making this project, and I love using this ROM. Thanks for the contribution!

I am not into wires, meaning I rarely use MTP through physical cable connections. However, when I needed it, I realized the feature is gone. I thought it was some issue with the cable, but the cable works fine with other devices. The same cable also works with my previous MIUI 12 ROM. It is just on PixelExperience, my computer is not detecting my device.

I also tried every USB configuration option in the developer's options, as well as tried restarting the device.

Please let me know if any other people also face the issue, and if there is a solution to this.

    Thanks!

    Hello everybody!

I have this doubt: Years ago I was a regular user of many ROMs on my different Android devices including an old Asus tablet and it was something that I enjoyed and that entertained me a lot.

A couple of weeks ago after several years without using custom ROMs, I installed this ROM but after a few hours, I returned to the original version of MIUI. The reason, a friend told me about the possibility of theft of bank information and passwords. That worried me a bit so I preferred to return to MIUI.

It's not a malfunctioning system but I love stock Android and how clean the system is.

I am not questioning here the reliability of the Rom developer, I just want your opinion as users regarding whether data leakage is possible, the use of back doors, or the inclusion of malware in the system. I know the source code is available but it is a huge amount of code to review.

Again, I just want to know how safe an official custom ROM is. I understand that the original systems send usage data but my main concern is this type of information (Banks and passwords).

    Thanks for your help!

I would rather trust an open-source project like PixelExperience than closed-source MIUI that has built-in apps that cannot be uninstalled, you can't restrict their internet access, and they require you to agree to some shady terms of use, data collection etc.

I did some testing with firewall app Blokada; MIUI, even after debloating (removing) most of their preinstalled apps, constantly sends some data to domains like xiaomi.net and AWS.

On AOSP ROMs, with flashed Gapps, I've noticed that my phone was connecting to google servers once in a while; probably because it was syncing something in the background or something else related to google services.

On AOSP ROMs without Gapps installed nothing is being sent. That's what I personally like to use because I don't want my phone to send any data when I don't use it and the phone is sitting in my pocket. I don't have banking apps installed because it is easy to have your phone lost or stolen. For banking you can just use you bank's website. It should automatically log you off.

That is the safest route, but for some people it may be too much, especially when they're so dependent on Google.

tl;dr ---> Using MIUI doesn't make your phone particularly safer. You just have to believe that their proprietary system and preinstalled apps aren't malicious, and they can't remotely connect to your phone and withdraw all of your money.
Custom ROMs are safe as long as they're well-known in the Android community and downloaded from official sources, or even better, built by yourself.

Itty bitty bug, the alarm icon has extra hands outside of the 'clock'
      View attachment 5308277
Try cleaning cache and data of clock app and update it, if it doesn't work clean data and cache of pe launcher, if that even doesn't not work too do a clean flash again

When April Update comes? Eagerly waiting for bug fix update.
Is rude asking a person who does this as a hobby, for free, and takes away from their family time when they will be finished making something. It makes the person asking seem like they are owed something or is entitled. This is why it is disrespectful and rude to ask when the next release (ETA) is coming. Like everyone else in this thread, we grab a seat, help who we can and wait patiently for the developer to freely give of his art.
