I tried Havoc. There is a similar behaviour but not the same. In Havoc, the touch screen stucks and it does not "touch" anymore. Everything works, calls, the screen wakes up, messages etc. If i press the power on button, the phone wakes up the screen, but i cannot touch it. The touch screen seems "disabled". A reboot (long pressing the power button) solves the problem. So, there is something different between EvoX and Havoc but anyway similar problem linked to the screen. IIRC, everything was working correctly until an update, but i do not remember which one. Probably the firmware? I jumped back to v12.5.1.0 to see what happens. The problem is that there is no way to test the bug directly. It is totally random.

Same problem. Dead black screen.......so i can confirm the problem seems to be the kernel.

@MKey_CZ I do not know if the problem was the kernel or the firmware, but i solved:
1. adb push miui.zip /sdcard/downloads/miui.zip (stock rom)
2. adb reboot recovery
3. flashed by twrp
4. booted the phone until the MIUI is ready (it removes also twrp)
5. powered off
6. booted to fastboot (power + volume down)
7. fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
8. fastboot reboot recovery
9. formatted data by twrp
10. adb push evox.zip
11. installed evox by twrp
12. formatted data by twrp
13. power off
14. boot

Now it works, no more black screen or crashes. I think something got wrong in an previous kernel or firmware update.

The finger unlock is slow, the face unlock too. Much slower than MIUI.
And the display goes to black sometimes, the phone even shutdown once. I have just 2 days using this ROM

I have the rom running for a couple of days now, had no such issues. The face unlock is slower than miui, but it's not terrible. The finger unlock has always been slow and more importantly, unreliable. So I stick to a pin/face unlock combo.

5.9.3 ocean is the last build. But there is a newer version of the kernel available on vantom kernel telegram.

The black screen seems fixed now. The finger and face unlock is still slow and can't unlock with mask (obviously)
And the battery lasts only 5 hours of screen when on miui it lasted around 8

@Anunnaki27 i am following the development and i can ensure that the rom work perfectly. Follow the install instruction and be sure to use the correct firmware and the last kernel (by Vantom). The problems you are speaking about have been solved several time ago (anyway the battery problem is not linked to evox).

Hi,
I've just installed EvolutionX 6.0 available here https://sourceforge.net/projects/androidhq254/files/Toco/Roms/EvolutionX/OSS/, and before that I updated te firmware to latest global 12.5.3.0. But the phone now bootloops to recovery, and recovery stopped asking for decrypt password!
I sideloaded the previous firmware but without any help.

Has anyone got some ideas? I don't want to wipe/loose all data... and I was stupid enough not to do any backup...

Thanks for the ROM

I was looking for the "accidental touch" option (to prevent unwanted touch events around the phone edges).
I did a search inside parameters, and the option was listed in the results.
I clicked on the search result (which was noted as being in "settings > the evolver > buttons")
But when I arrived in said section, the option was not here.
I could not find it anywhere.

Does someone know if it's actually here? If so, how to find/activate/reveal it?
