It worked! But the videos in YT at 1080 60fps go with lag, also it does not enable me the options to see in higher resolution (2k)
This is mostly a hack that forces Android to use the more stable OpenGL rendering backend. I don't see how it would affect YouTube resolution options. But yeah the lag is an ongoing issue.

Nice... Is frequency always on high fixed in Atomix?
Which NikGapps should be used? I'm getting rebooting to recovery after core, omni and stock versions of 2021.05.01... Currently downloading the latest stock to check out.
[no difference with lateset version]

And also this really could help to know how to factory reset the ROM from recovery since after rebooting caused by NikGapps, factory resetting or wiping data partition, copies NikGapps again! Wiping system partition? Doesn't it clear the ROM too?! I suppose so...

I'd like to learn answer to my previous question.
Thanks in advance.

Hey all.

First of all thanks to @emufan4568 for fantastic work. 2 things found, not sure if both were mentioned, first one for sure but not sure if in this way.
1. BT audio - when answering phone on the headset while having any audio bt device connected (might be smart watch like in my case) causes no sound on the headset. When BT is off - all fine.
2. I cannot connect with any device to hotspot when WPA2 is used. With no security hotspot works fine.

If this was mentioned before - sorry for repeating, if I can help in any way, with logs testing etc please let me know :)

Finally found that FlameGapps should be installed by OrangeFox, not TWRP... Also only basic version works.
Applying Magisk from OFRecovery made the phone get stock.

hello, in the last update (7.8) the videos are distorted and the colors reversed, this happens in a few videos (I imagine it may be some video codec), this was presented on FB and ali
Noticed this problem too, YouTube and messenger work fine. However, when I try to open a video internally with a Google app or Messengers inbuilt browser it'll result in the same problem.

  1. Another thing is that I finally figured out why I thought vibrations don't work. They work however they are really weak. After using this ROM for already like 2 weeks I almost never noticed any notifications nor calls because of how weak they are. With stock ROM there was almost never a time I hadn't notice a notification and I always used only vibrations. Now I have to use sounds to even notice that someone is calling me. Is it possible that for some reason this ROM just doesn't use the vibrations on the max setting?

Note that I use a case, but I've used it for already 2 years with stock ROM.

  2. And while replacing my broken screen somewhat fixed my battery drain, I still have a small feeling that it may still be a small issue. I find myself using "battery saver" permanently so that the phone would last at least a bit similar to what it used to. Remember it's just a feeling and it may be just a dumb placebo, but just in case here are again log files from MatLog. Plus I will do some more testing and edit this post later.

So far, everything works fine except:
- Battery drain is too high for normal use (sleep mode has a really sufficient drainage). Consequently, phone gets very very hot.
- Double tap for wake up cannot be disabled.
- Bluetooth device (car) does not connect.
- There is no option for controlling buttons backlight.

I couldn't manage to have both root and recovery. Rooting needs kernel (extracted from payload.bin). Installing recovery on rooted kernel, revokes root. Then it's not possible to root again because there is no magisk-enabled kernel file (enabling magisk from recovery, puts the phone in reboot).

To be mentioned, I replaced all stock apps with google versions (except few).

I can agree on the double-tap, actually completely forgot about that.
Miss that backlight option too. Another option I'm missing is that I cannot actually disable the hardware buttons, if I'm correct it was possible in stock.

I think I have a Root and Recovery just fine. Altho I installed Magisk with just APK of it in Recovery because the other way seems just too complex and dumb for it. (Ye ye I know there might be some issues with it but I didn't have any.)
Used FlameGapps Full.

Strangely I get bootloops applying magisk from recovery (do you have any suggestions?). Also Flamegapps full makes bootloop too, so I used basic version (modified it to prevent installing apks like digital well being and stuff).

Well tbh, when I was installing this ROM for the first time I didn't really know what I was doing and didn't have the PDF file with instructions (Tbh I still think installing sh*t on Android is true cancer, I'd compare it to doing anything with a broken printer). So at first I actually installed it with just TWRP and the wrong FlameGapps package, strangely enough, everything worked just fine. Then I realised I was supposed to install OrangeFox and a different FlameGapps package. So all I did was just flashing OrangeFox according to the PDF manual and then, correct FlameGapps and flashed again APK package of Magisk. Everything turned out well again. I guess I'm just lucky. 😅

Just in case I can post my ZIP of files I used if it's allowed here on the forums, just let me know.

It looks that every one of us has personal files combined with person-specific method for installing!
I get what you have done there. So don't bother yourself posting files. Thanks for reply.

Can you make it possible to take pictures with a black and white camera? And it turns out only on the stock firmware it is possible = (

In the latest version, it is possible to choose monochrome camera, as mentioned in the changelog.
Thanks!!

I checked the firmware, everything works well.
The only thing I noticed is that you cannot change the menu of the power button. What did not try to change everything remains the same, and sometimes because of this, the system interface crashes.

    Known issues:
    • You tell me

    Flashing Instructions

    Pre-installation

    First time installation
    • Backup your device data to a PC or OTG flash drive.
    • Flash T-Virus with NOST and reboot to recovery.
    • Download and copy crDroid and TWRP zip to the Internal Storage and flash them in that order.
    • Format userdata and reboot to recovery to swich to the updated slot.
    • Flash NikGapps and wipe the Dalvik Cache (or else the system will not boot).
    • Reboot to system and enjoy.

    Installing from previous release
    • Backup your data to PC, OTG flash drive.
    • Reboot to recovery, copy crDroid and TWRP zip to the Internal Storage and flash them in that order.
    • Reboot to recovery to swich to the updated slot and flash Gapps.
    • Reboot to system

    Troubleshooting
When flashing the ROM in TWRP, it fails at Step 2

To fix this, flash any TWRP >= v2.4 which contains a fix for slot switching

After flashing TWRP v2.x the folders have weird names and I cannot copy stuff to the internal storage
You forgot the format userdata before rebooting.
The GSI in T-Virus is A10 and uses software encryption. My TWRP builds use hardware based decryption blobs which
are incompatible with software encrypted userdata. My ROM uses hardware encryption so that is not a problem.
But when you do not format data and install TWRP v2.x then it cannot decrypt the userdata created by A10 GSI.
So always format data before installing TWRP v2.x releases

It's Project Sakura :) If I manage to build it properly, then I will most probably update crDroid too with the updated device tree.

As you all know crDroid updates have been put on hold for the few months. That was for a good reason though as the device tree was being rewritten. Now that the work has been finished, we bring you some good news; our first official AncientOS build for the NB1.

This ROM will replace crDroid and is insanely feature packed.
    • The build will be official, going forward OTAs should be possible and regularly updated.
    • The ROM is SElinux enforcing and encrypted, which means now everything should pass safety checks.
    • Power effieciency has been massively improved (0.7%/h idle, 9 hours SOT achievable)
And before you wonder about OrangeFox, it will be dropped as TWRP works better with decryption, only way to get enforcing working for now, and is easier to maintain. Also TWRP will become official in the near future. Moving from crDroid to AncientOS will require formatting data but that is a small one-time price to pay for monthly OTA updates, isn't it?

Also going forward umbrella-mod will be deprecated in favor of atomix. Most of it's features will be incorporated into atomix including performance improvements. The XDA thread will come shortly (probably tomorrow or the day after tomorrow after a test run has been completed). Thanks for your patience.
