Anyone else have issues trying to use a different launcher? Swipe up (to return to home screen) seems to only want to work with the default launcher
I installed Nova Launcher: at the beginning I was having the same issue, but after some time (like a couple of hours I think) the system "decided" Nova was good for him and now everything is working fine.

anyone succeeded with rooting this rom? Ivan's boot image gives UI crash non-stop. please share the method if u did, guys.
I just flash the image from Ivan to boot partition right after flashing ROM and GApps. Everything fine for me.

Can someone please provide a standby battery drain info for this rom? Is it better than the stock? I did everything I could on stock rom (Exynos), still, get at least 10%-20% battery drain overnight. I hate Exynos so much.

Unfortunately there isn't an exact battery drain as everyone uniquely uses their phones differently, you could end up with worse or better battery life depending on what you do, you'll just have to test for yourself.

I know everyone uses their phones differently. I'm not new to android root and stuff. But I think Exynos has problems, not 100% sure. I got a Samsung tab s6 Snapdragon with the same setup and it uses literally 0% overnight. I don't want to go through all the trouble etc.. and still have a battery drain problem.

Samsung Tab s6 has a much larger battery, you can't really compare. All processors have their problems. You just need to try for yourself to be honest, if you're not willing to then maybe aosp is not for you. real world experience will always be better than someone telling you they have good/bad battery performance, because your experience may vary dramatically compared to another's.

Samsung Galaxy S10e
I'm starting to feel like this ROM was a one-off effort to show that DotOS is not a Xiaomi exclusive ROM and can run on a Samsung phone, too; which is honestly very sad. I feel like this ROM got abandoned really quickly after two releases.

Where's the zip file for the second build that has Google apps built in? Where's the 5.0.1 update with the May security patch? How can I be sure that the S10e recieves the DotOS 5.1 update if the development of the 5.0 branch is neglected compared to Luke's other outings (like crDroid or Evolution X)?

Yes, the S10/e/+ build of Evolution X received an update today and because of that, I feel like it's time to put more energy into this ROM. It's my favourite ROM because of said reasons in another comment I made and I even tried to help him by sending a link that helps developers make their unofficial contributions to the DotOS project for certain devices become officially recognised by the original DotOS team and start pushing OTA updates for them.

I'm not angry, I'm just worried.

Luke said that he wouldn't update dot before 5.1 as there are no significant changes he could make before that, no need to worry.

The above is correct, DotOS is definitely not abandoned. I'm aware about making dotOS official, and plan to do that at some point, just not yet mostly because I don't meet all the requirements, so its likely it will be unofficial for longer.

Maybe you're right, never thought about the battery size.

I have a few questions about this ROM!

I had lineageos 18.1 running (Linux4's version with encryption+selinux support). It ran pretty well, all I did was unlock the bootloader, flash Lineage Recovery and then the ROM.

However, I spent 7 hours the other day trying to install this ROM and a few others. I tried via Lineage Recovery, TWRP, flashing the multidisabler, wiping certain things, formatting /data to remove encryption, in more orders than I can remember. Nothing would boot, except for the original Lineage that I had running. It would just show the "unlocked bootloader" warning menu, hang for a minute or two and reboot, repeating the cycle. I eventually gave up and just flashed the stock firmware, but I'd love to use this ROM still and would appreciate all the help I could get. Many thanks!

Install latest Corsicanu twrp, no other recovery will work - flash ROM , gapps and and optionally if you want magisk flash the boot image from Ivans lineage thread. Format/wipe data/caches and that's all you should have to do.

Multidisabler is only for stock Samsung based ROM where the security features haven't been disable (i.e stock from Odin)

Thank you! That's the TWRP I was using.

I plan to try this again tomorrow, however I'll be coming from the stock ROM (as I gave up and just flashed it via Odin).

My current plan is to:
  1. Unlock bootloader, flash the Corsicanu TWRP
  2. Flash the multidisabler (as I'm coming from stock)
  3. Wipe(?) system, data, caches (I'm really lost here, do I wipe data? do I format data? someone said they were completely different things. When do wipe/format data? - your message hinted that I should do it after the flashing)
  4. Flash the ROM, Ivan's boot image and gapps
I would appreciate a step-by-step process, or even just some clarification/adjustments towards my current plan, as I'm finding it all really confusing. I've never really dealt with newer devices, in the past it was a simple wipe+flash the ROM, but things seem to have changed.

Thank you once again!

First of all, great rom and great battery life!

I'm having some problems though.

- WiFi failes after a while
- Netflix wont show video when another app is drawing over apps. And for some reason, Night Light triggers that. So I can't use Netflix while Night Light is activated.

Also, is there another alternative to GApps besides NikGapps I can use?
I have trouble getting Maps to work at all, and sometimes Play Store crashed when installing / updating apps.

Much love!

NikGapps is buggy on all builds that use Ivan Meler's source trees. Use FlameGapps instead because OpenGapps is not available for Android 11.

Hi, whenever i try to register a fingerprint, my device tells me that the fingerprint enrollment failed and that i should try again with another finger, which doesn't work either. Does anyone have a solution so i can register my fingerprints? This also happens on other aosp-based roms, however stock Samsung Firmware works fine.
    Thanks!

Edit: So i decided to clarify a bit!
    View attachment 5362163
This is when i try to add a Fingerprint, no matter if i do it when i first set up the Phone or when adding them afterwards.
    View attachment 5362167
    Next this Screen comes up...
    View attachment 5362169
When i touch the Sensor once, this message pops up...
    View attachment 5362173
when i click on OK and go back to the home screen, the fingerprint-symbol in the Bottom keeps being displayed.
This happens also on any other AOSP-based rom, but not on samsung based firnware (also custom roms, not just stock)
If anyone has a hint, please let me know, i really would like to use this rom, but this one thing really bugs me a lot.

    Thank you everone!
I managed to solve this issue by reflashing a couple times and/or rebooting a few times too.

Foregoing the FP enrollment at setup, rebooting, and then trying to add your fingerprints in the security settings menu could be the way to do it?
It didn't seem too bad to fix, I thought it may have had something to do with the magisk boot image or my magisk flashed TWRP, but iirc neither was a problem.
    Hope this helps at all.

    Thanks for answering so quickly!

I tried a dirty flash and unfortunately it didn't help. Clean flashing doesn't solve the problem either. This happens, no matter if i have magisk installed or not i'm thinking magisk is not relevant to this problem.

I tried rebooting multiple time, but get greeted with the same popup when trying to add a fingerprint. Face unlock works fine btw.

I've read something about deleting the file /data/system/users/0/settings_fingerprint.xml however this file is not present on my device... could this be the issue?

Anyway thanks again for your help, hope i can get this fix fixed quickly

Edit: So i decided to dig a little bit deeper and get some Logs from when i try to register my Fingerprints!
Maybe those can give someone a better understanding of the problem:

    Screenshot_20210715-103235.png
    Screenshot_20210715-103243.png

I got those Logs from the app CatLog...
Hopefully these can help resolve the problem!

Another Edit: Finally good news! I fixed the problem by discovering this comment in the LineageOS 18.1 Thread.
I was just holding down my finger on the reader for too long... when just tapping it for a split second, i was then able to register my fingerprint as i would normally! The fingerprint sensor works flawless now!

Thanks again for anyone who helped!

Also, not sure if this is a problem with aosp or the device, but it might be worth looking into fixing it, cause there really are no resources online for how to fix it, apart from the comment i linked above. This might move people away from the ROM if they face the same problem as i did!

    Thanks @PMFRTT1 , and @UltraViolencia!

The fingerprint thing was driving me insane, and I was considering switching to a different ROM.

Your info should be stickied, or mentioned in the main thread, as it sounds like more people are having this issue.
