On 61.0.A.23.20, XQ-BC62. There are new versions of the Sony Video Pro app, but I'm unable to update the app or uninstall the current one. When just trying to install the .apk, I get a simple "app not installed" message. when attempting to install through adb, I get:

Code: 
adb: failed to install VideoPro.apk: Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_UPDATE_INCOMPATIBLE: Package jp.co.sony.mc.videopro signatures do not match previously installed version; ignoring!]

I can't find the base .apk file in system anywhere either.

EDIT: OK so I found where the apk is located (/vender/app/VideoPro) but when I try to replace the base apk there and install the latest version, it crashes after the initial setup. Still can't get the latest version installed and working successfully.

Any ideas?

The official camera software needs crack before it can be installed on the third-party system.Use MT Manager to delete the crash method in idd class in classes.dex.

So I've tried using MT Manager, APK tool, etc.. looking through crash logs and trying to fix the problem but I'm just not a good enough developer I guess to figure out how to do it successfully. I keep getting stuck where exactly to change what code, and any time I try to install a modded APK to see if I've made progress I get parsing errors for some reason (even after signing). Could you build an updated ROM with the latest Video Pro for Android 11 (1.0.A.0.26) or post a modded APK?

    Important Information
    1. This ROM is for testing purposes only and may contain unexpected bugs
    2. This ROM has nothing related to ODM images! So you don't need to ask/install anything like that, just follow the instructions.
    3. This ROM will never work with any versions of Google Camera (GCam)!
    4. You need to flash Stock Android 11 before flashing this ROM.
    5. For VoLTE, you need to boot into stock firmware and enable it before flashing this ROM!
    6. If you came from SODP ROMs, you need to go back to official Android 11 firmware, and boot into launcher.

    Information:     Flash the GApps before first boot. If not, a clean flash is recommended

    Flashing and updating
    How to flash
    Make sure you upgraded to Official Android 11 (It is recommended to use 61.0 A.23.20) from Sony
    Unlock bootloader is necessary
    Download latest platform-tools from google

    1. Install fastbootd drivers, guidance
    2. Put your device into bootloader by volume up key.
    3. Enter fastbootd:

    fastboot reboot fastboot
    4. Flash LineageOS:
    Code: 
    fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta_system vbmeta_system.img
fastboot erase metadata
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash system_ext system_ext.img
fastboot flash product product.img
fastboot flash vendor vendor.img

    5. If you are first time to flash LineageOS, Wipe the old userdata:

    fastboot erase userdata

    GApps:
    Flash the boot.img or magisk23_patched_boot.img in the zip file
    Boot into Recovery then choose Apply update - Apply from ADB, then sideload the gapps package on your PC with adb tool:

    Root access:
    Flash Magisk in recovery.

    Issues and reports

    Report issues only if you are using the ROM kernel
    If an additional mod is installed, make sure it's unrelated, and mention it
    Make sure the issue wasn't discussed earlier in the threads
    Share a log of the error with CatLog for example

    1. This Lineage build is based on official Android 11 61.0.A.23.20 , not Android 12.
    2. This build is highly experimental and for testing purpose only.
    3. This ROM may not be able to pass SafetyNet check.
    4.It is not clear whether SELinux enforce will cause permission issue. If you encounter issue, you can use permissiveboot image.

    Can we request a build for the 5 iii as well? Should be very easy, it's the same architecture, and kernel for the 1 iii can be directly flashed to the 5 iii

    Yes, you can even try to directly flash 1 III‘s system, system_ext and product image, modify Stock vendor : replace overlay and open/vendor /fstab.default,remove the oem line.
