Just flashed the microG Version.
First impression is very good, excellent ROM!
Most of my banking apps work, even without Magisk.

However, fingerprint works only for unlocking the phone.
I cannot register it for any app using it.

The preinstalled camera app symbol vanished after the first reboot, the app is still there.
How can I get the symbol back in the app drawer to start the cam?

Any plans to implement face unlock?
Hey!
Glad you like it so far.

The fingerprint issue is related to the problems that come with buggy kernel sources released by OnePlus.
I am right now working on investigating this issue together with a member of this community.

As for the camera: strange, on my phone the camera app did not disappear after rebooting.
Sounds like the app is just hiddenn, you can try the following: long-ress on a free spot on your launcher wallpaper --> start menu settings --> hidden and protected apps --> search for the camera app in the list and toggle the eye icon.

There are no plans to implement face unlock since this feature is not there in LineageOS 18.1 (on any device).

OK, after clearing Trebuchet launcher cache and switching homescreen grid to 4x5 and back, the app symbol for the preinstalled camera reappeared in the app drawer... strange...

Just noticed that the Nightlight feature is kinda weak. Any change to increase the nightlight intensity a bit/lot more?
Can not confirm this issue.
For me the nightlight is pretty strong.
You can increase the night light intensity in system settings --> display --> night light --> intensity slider.
Please find the screenshot attached.
Please note: night light never shows on screenshot, on reality the color grade is very red-ish on my phone using those settings.

Thanks for the answer!
I already have it on max. feels like it's going from a value like 6000k to 4500k, while I usually use 2700k as colour temperature.

But I can also just use an overlay app if it's just a problem on my device/others don't see a need to increase these values.

Thanks for your help in any case

The animations when opening apps are not exactly the smoothest they could be, in my opinion, but maybe I'm wrong. But besides, everything's great and I'm so grateful for the 60hz lock option! Thank you for your work. Btw, I was frustrated because on any ROM the fingerprint scanner could never be precise enough, I've found that when I scan my left thumb, it works just fine, but my right thumb is hardly ever scannable, idk if anyone else has the same problem, mine isn't broken or anything like that, so I have no clue why it's so hard for it to be recognized.

Update:

What I've also found just right now is that when you turn off animations in the developer's options, the fingerprint scanner is much more accurate and fast.

Things are looking up, but still not all working for me. Gave the microG version a shot this time and these are the results:
1. Banking apps working ok after i enabled safetynet in microG settings.
2. Contact sync worked well with DavX5
3. Did not get a chance to test NFC
4. I had an issue with app that have Sign in with Google, when i try to use it i get API_NOT_CONNECTED (i know the point of microG is not to use all the google stuff, but for apps that are for convenience i use sign in with google and i have alot of those apps). This was a deal buster for me this time... If you guys have a solution for that maybe i`ll give it another go when i have the time.
5. I did not find AOD settings ( not a deal-breaker but it`s a nice to have)

3) NFC is working fine in this build.

4) Regarding the sign in with Google feature: the microG team themselve say that there can be minor incompatbilities here and there when using microG with Google apps. The privacy comes with a price: some convenience.
If you do not need the better privacy protection and just want the Google features to work use the vanilla version of this ROM instead and flash the normal GApps (instructions kann be found in the second post).

5) this build is about bringing the original LineageOS experience to the OnePlus Nord. I only add microG and stuff that has to do with it to the microG version. Features that you feel are missing in the original LineageOS will not be added by me.

Did you install the vanilla version of the ROM or microG?
If you installed the vanilla version you have to install GApps aswell in order to be able to restore the WhatsApp backup from Google Drive (instructions can be found in the second post of this thread).

When you are using the microG version of this ROM in order to be able to restore the WhatsApp backup you have to set up your google account in microG services core, enable device registration, cloud messaging and safety net (also go to advanced safety net settings and enable "official server").
It is also required in the microG version to then go to system settings --> accounts --> select your google account --> login & security --> enable "trust google for app permission" and "allow apps to find accounts"

Hope this helps!
Best regards

Thats normal, the Account is Only shown in the System Settings, for MicroG, the Button is still present so you can add more Accounts if you need to.

Thank You so much Really happy I have A Question Can we get A Official Rom In the future and when Thanks again....
Yeah I definitely have the plan to apply as an official LineageOS maintainer for the OnePlus Nord.
Until I can do so there is still some development work to do.
Right now I am working on the source built kernel. It will take some time.
But yeah, it is on the roadmap.

    Hello,
I have problem with flashing this rom, namely currently I am on Lineageos 17.1 and when i go bootloader/ recovery mode everything it is ok, but when i flashed recovery from post 1 and i go into recovery mode and try to sideload rom, my computer has not found my cell phone. I have Google USB driver and on recovery 17.1 everything it`s ok i can flash rom etc only this problem is on recovery 18.1. Any idea to solve this? mayby someone has or had this same problem?. Regards
    Hey,
to me it sounds like you have wrong / outdated versions of adb & fastboot or are using wrong /outdated adb drivers.
Please uninstall your adb & fastboot and the Google USB driver you mentioned.
Then go ahead and download & install universal adb drivers from here: https://adb.clockworkmod.com/ aswell as tiny adb & fastboot from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/tool-windows-tiny-adb-fastboot-august-2021.3944288/

Afterwards try again to install this ROM and make sure to follow the instruction steps closely.

Would someone please give me an estimate idea of what SOT would anyone be expecting
I am getting 10 hours of SoT using the microG ROM on my personal device.
Please note that this can vary depending on your battery condition and the apps you installed.

Thanks for this amazing rom and your great communication here, i really appreciate it.

Does anyone know something about official twrp release in the future?

You care a lot about privacy and security? You want an up to date LineageOS build that will not hold you back in regards of user experience?
Then LineageOS 18.1 microG edition is right for you! (Non-microG vanilla LineageOS version also available).
LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 11, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.

HOW TO GET GAPPS IN THE VANILLA VERSION OF THIS ROM:
    Reference: *Link*

    Follow these steps:
-Download GApps from here: *Link* (OpenGApps Pico, Android 11, ARM64)
-Boot into bootloader: adb reboot bootloader
-Flash the recovery image: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
-Format data / do a factory reset in recovery
-Reboot into recovery: click advanced --> reboot to recovery
-Go to Apply update and choose Apply from ADB
-Sideload the vanilla version of the rom: adb sideload rom.zip
-Reboot into recovery again (!important do not start LineageOS yet)
-Sideload the GApps package you just downloaded: adb sideload gapps.zip

    UPDATING THE ROM:

Unless I say the opposite in the update announcement, this ROM can be updated using the dirty flash method.

In order to do so, follow these steps:
-Download the new version of the ROM you are using (microG/vanilla)
-Reboot into recovery: adb reboot recovery
-DO NOT CLICK ON FACTORY RESET / WIPE DATA
-Flash the Zip-File of the new ROM: adb sideload rom.zip

Important: if you are using the vanilla version of the ROM,
you have to re-flash GApps after updating and before starting LineageOS:
-Reboot into recovery: click advanced --> reboot to recovery
-Download GApps from the link above
-Sideload the GApps package you just downloaded: adb sideload gapps.zip

    PLANNED FOR THE FUTURE:

    - I might apply as official LineageOS 18.1 avicii maintainer, in the meantime I will keep this unofficial port updated, include security patches and fix issues.
    - Updates on a monthly basis
    - avb_custom_key (Re-Lock Bootloader) and OTA updates might get set up later on.
