I'm currently on the July update.
Is it possible if I update using the system updater without deleting my data ?

Recently I OTA updated my redmi note 5 by Pixel Experience official in the system settings, but after auto rebooted by the update, the system stucked at the TWRP inital screen;

I tried to force shut it down by holding power button, then holding volume down botton, loaded into fastboot mode, but nothing changed or happened in the windows device manager, so fastboot commands are not available.

I also tried to drained the battory by leaving it alone until the TWRP initial screen off, after charging it for a few minutes, it auto powered on, loaded into TWRP initial screen, stucked again, even I booted it into fastboot mode again, there had no any android device or unrecognised device appeared in the windows device manager. I guess that the usb interface was disabled during the OTA update.

My cell phone now is an iron brick...

So what you need is a different recovery. The reason you are stuck on TWRP screen is because the process of updating was started, but you can't access TWRP because your phone is encrypted.
So here's the process:
1. You need to find and download "[email protected]_1_FBE" recovery.
2. You need to boot into Fastboot and flash this recovery.
3. Reboot to your recovery again, it will ask your pin to decrypt your phone.
4. It will now update properly

Edit: if you have issues with fastboot, it's nothing to do with the rom or recovery. Try to change USB slots or reinstall everything for adb and fastboot.

Thank you, MedisonZ, I think the issue may be addressed to USB slot.

I tried a lot of times of changing different USB interfaces or laptops, phone in fastboot can't be detected in the windows device manager, so I guess fastboot was disabled during the OTA update. the phone now is totally a brick. : )

I've had the same issue with TWRP getting stuck when OTA updating from November to December update, but fastboot was working just fine. Not sure how fastboot can be disabled during the OTA like that.

Phone was detected in the windows device manager, I tried 3 usb cables, the previous two were broken..., they functioned well only for charging, not for data transferring...

I have now flashed the recovery with Orangefox, it stucked in the Orangefox initial screen, not prompted for any pin to decrypt the phone.

Guys I need some help!

I accidently flashed the FBE Pixel Experience ROM (I didn't mean to) while I was on a Non-FBE recovery. The phone is now stuck on the recovery splash screen.

The problem is that I can't access the Fastboot mode no matter what I try, it doesn't even shut down. Just stuck there. It is accessible by ADB. Even using ADB it doesn't boot in Fastboot and reboots to recovery itself.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. put the device in fastboot mode
2. flash stock rom with MiFlashTool (just flash no relock)
3. flash this recovery beta version with FBE support
4. flash Pixel Rom
5. dirty flash every new update

;)

Update:

I was able to get into fastboot using adb. For some reason the usual Fastboot screen was replaced by just a blank black screen.

adb reboot bootloader

The command rebooted the phone to Fastboot

Then I confirmed using

fastboot devices

Then the phone showed on the list as a Fastboot device and I flashed the FBE recovery :)

Hi. Can anyone confirm about 3 features here?

1. camera shutter sound cannot be silenced
2. no scrolling screenshot.
3. no automatic call record function.

and will these be incorporated in the future?

Hi,

I had some problem with the latest update probably linked to the recovery but managed to mend it.

I was wondering since Android 11 is discontinued on the website and now only 12 is on stable if we will have a Pixel Experience 12 for whyred topic. I would like to see people feedback before installing it and a thread could be helpful to give feedback.

Thank you in advance and for all your hard work.

You tried to open recovery again? im stuck in logo too
You have to flash recommended recovery which supports file based encryption

charging speed is very slow and battery life also not good

Cause I have done clean instal, but still facing/stuck at the google logo...🙏
You have to format the data, because PixelExperience is not supporting Encryption

Note : there is a difference between wipe data and format data
If you are using twrp recovery --> Select wipe and then select format data (bottom right) then you should be able to boot into system
