Nope the google messges does not require any wifi or data connection it uses your sim load. Clearly you have not tried the app that dev has mentioned

New update is available, permissive builds are now discontinued.
Bluetooth is working normally with enforcing, this means no more critical bugs remaining and the ROM status is stable now.

As always, for minor bugs you can catch a logcat and report it

i feel sorry to be the bearer of bad news but on the latest build for my J500H variant, the "lineage-18.1-20211004-UNOFFICIAL-j53gxx.zip" sim card is not recognizable. Have done multiple reboots and clean flash still no luck. Banking apps are still not working without magisk hide. Other than that everything is working well.

Can you guys catch a logcat?
Simcard is working on my test device and I can't reproduce your issue

Clean flashed on my test device with lineage-18.1-20211004-UNOFFICIAL-j5nlte.zip build, simcard is working

Guys don't report bugs without a logcat, If I can't see the error there's is nothing I can do.

I noticed that the simcard was not recognized in the setup but it's working later.

Can anyone report working simcard with latest build too?
Makes no sense if it works on j5nlte but not in j53gxx :/

This will take months, android 12 isn't even uploaded to aosp repo yet

And LineageOS needs to be updated with this source

I am also having the same j53gxx both sims are working like a charm. I am not facing any sim card issues on my j500h. I think it's your hardware problem

I'll check the logcat but on my test device SIM card and IMEI are recognized and working good
