When you unzip it is there a folder in a folder before the files? If so get rid of the parent directory that has the same name.

Any idea what files I need to replace to get stock camera back? I want to pull the camera from the stock ROM and put it back into Fast&Smooth, I've tried restoring with TB and manually placing the stock camera apk, nothing gets it to work, so I'm obviously missing something. I presume that I need to move several files.

I downloaded your backup (rar file) & restored it. I've been using one of your ROMs for quite a while & WiFi hotspot never worked but the rest worked great until a few months ago when my Bluetooth stopped working with my car. I've had this problem with other phones using several ROMs. But my phone was starting to have other bugs as well so I found your backup of b180 & used it. I didn't see any errors while in recovery but after the first boot my data remained intact. It seems all I updated is my system partition. I'm happy about this since it seems to have helped my issues & I got to keep my phone setup like I want it.
My WiFi hotspot now works. I still have to try it in my car to see if my Bluetooth issues were fixed as well.

i have my new rom about ready im sending it to a friend to test for couple days make sure no bugs arise then i will release it its based on b170 something on b180 drained the battery bad no matter what i did
Try restoring the entire
/system/priv-app/HwCamera
folder from your working stock ROM image and file permissions and ownership are probably critical.

My phone reboots when i click the button to end a call, on your B170 mix rom. Do you get this same behavior? I came from B180 rooted rom. Thanks for making another rom for this device. Figured this phone would be forgotten about because of the newer XT2. Just wish we could ditch EMUI.

You can ditch EMUI like myself and many others have done. Just go to the Play Store and try the free version of Nova Launcher - which is very capable. The $4.99 Prime version is on sale for $0.99, so I highly recommend buying it after you try the free version for a few days and fall in love with it

I always wipe everything when installing a new rom to avoid anything lingering from previous rom. I did try another time to completely wipe the phone and reinstall your mix b170 rom, but unfortunately i still get reboots on ending a call. Receiving calls and not answering will also cause the phone to reboot. Did you remove any of the original dialer apps with this rom? I always try to remove a lot of apps when using a stock rom but this device has always given me problems. I think the EMUI interface is tied with too much of the rom. I do use Nova to help but the interface is completely changed from stock android. And i think the only way to get rid of it is to use another type of rom, ie lineage. I wish i could help get one working for this pone but i don't know much about building roms. I know the honor 5x shares a lot of our specs but i was unable to get past boot logo with their roms. Im working on getting you logs but not sure i can post any of them since i don't have enough posts. Ill see how i can get them to you.

I'm assuming you have root in this. I don't have root. I tried uninstalling Super SU & reinstalling it but it just sounds without doing anything.
I'm going to try to restore system again to see what happens.
I'm also still having issues with the UVO system in my car. The mic doesn't work. This is common with other devices but if I can get root working you might be able to help me get my hands free working.

Got root working. Sorry but it's been a while since I've done this. I just had to flash the SU.zip again.

just use my swift n fast v2 b170 for now til i redo the other rom or figure out the wierd bug
Hey Madvane i Restored/Flashed your b180 backup. I see that theres a "SWAP" i cant seem to find this SWAP partition. Did you partition the internal storage for a RAM SWAP ??? Or is this like ZRAM where theres no partition? Pic related

I found this. What does this mean though? Idk much a kut ZRAM. Os this a SWAP partition. AFAIK SWAP partitions on internl memory are npt good because it can wear out your internal drive unless its on an External Drive like micro SD?
