I asked a while ago if this rom has native call record and, received no answer. That is why I'm still on oxygen.Just curious, is there anything this ROM lacks that OOS has? I am not trying to disrespect the ROM, I just simply got a OP8 very recently, unlocked it , waited the 7 days and then unlocked it again and flashed global. So now I am curious if there are any weird problems. I see this is one of the only (maybe only) Android 12 ROMs so that is sweet. But am unsure about all the Magisk/root/Safetynet bs so far. Thanks for any info
I second this question, I am tired of oos random lagging and wanted to try something differentJust curious, is there anything this ROM lacks that OOS has? I decided to do a fresh install; however, I too have lost root as Magisk asks me to patch a file...odd. I did try the following methods:i think you can give it a try, but remember to save your data before.
so you'll get your answer yourself and if it fails a report here would be nice
If sideloading Magisk isn't working, just use the manual boot.img patcher method.I decided to do a fresh install; however, I too have lost root as Magisk asks me to patch a file...odd. I did try the following methods:
1. Sideload ROM, factory reset etc, boot phone then sideload magisk canary.zip boot phone...no root.
2. Sideload ROM, then sideload magisk canary.zip straight after then factory reset et al, boot phone....no root.
After trying to sideload magisk canary.zip, i get the following error in recovery
E: footer is wrong
Update package verification toom 0.2s (result 1)
E: Signature verification failed
E: Error: 21
Install from ADB completed with status 2
installation aborted .
Just curious, i did install arrow recovery, but whilst in recovery, the top left of the screen it says android recovery.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks, will give it a try tomorrow. As a side note, is there an option to utilise the full screen on all apps, I can't seem to find one. Atm, there is a black border covering the camera. The option does exist in 5.9.3 in the menu (can't recall where)? If sideloading Magisk isn't working, just use the manual boot.img patcher method.
which app did you use i tried a few and no dice.got the same problem, using an alternative camera app solved this
I'd used open camera, that will work for meThe selfie cam works main camera crashes. Clean flash followed instructions from 2nd post 8pro
All sorted now. I've installed non display cut out via magisk and enabled it under Dev options, but the screen still doesn't display a full screen on certain apps, I've also tried fullscreen immersive gestures and g visual mod, but still cant get it to work. Am i to live with it as is or can someone else provide advice? If sideloading Magisk isn't working, just use the manual boot.img patcher method.
