install from adb completed with status 2.
installation aborted.'

and at the top it says 'your device may fail to boot ... ' in red

does this mean we need to flash 11.0.10.10 first before the rom update?
EDIT: updated firmware (from reboot to fastboot, then reboot to recovery) and sideloaded - same result... anyone had similar problems?

EDIT2: took the plunge and rebooted to system, no obvious problem yet (one app crashed without launching - think it was camera) and now seems to work... but suspect may still be on old build (...20220111.093416 release-keys)...?

Ok, there are 2 issues trying to flash this -that are not your fault. The OP should update the info @FoxyDrew

1. The OP has a dead link to the Arrow recovery. The good link is here -->ARROW RECOVERY LINK
2. The pre-device information in the ROM ZIP file doesn't work on the latest clean copy of OOS 11.10.10 so you need to change the file 'metadata' in the directory "/META-INF/com/android/" in the ZIP file.

Change the last line in the file from instantnoodlep to "OnePlus8Pro" with a text editor.

"pre-device=OnePlus8Pro"

Now save the file and update the ROM ZIP file and you can now sideload like normal from the recovery. Note you will have to let the recovery bypass signature verification when it asks unless you already disabled it in the recovery.

This method works and tested on a clean flashed device.

1) the los recovery in OP is more recent date? would that be what dev intended?
2) presumably the OnePlus8Pro tag should be changed to OnePlus8 for instantnoodle?

The instructions in the second post say to use Arrow Recovery (which is a dead link). I see your point when you click on the giant DOWNLOAD button graphic in the first post, the directory contains the new LOS Recovery -but this is my point- OP needs updated to reflect if that is the way forward.

As far as the Non-Pro version of instantnoodle -it would probably be the same, but don't have the device. If you are already on a custom ROM the 'instantnoodle' might work as-is. Stock OOS, probably needs changed. You will know when the recovery rejects flashing due to target device miss-match and should tell you what it was looking for.

Also as a note, i also tried flashing both OOS 11.0.10.10 and this EvoX ROM on top of it from internal storage with the new twrp-op8-3.6.0_11-infected-b7 recovery and both flashed successfully (after i changed the metadata target device).

Use the canary version, rename .apk to .zip and sideload after first boot of the rom (new flash/after every update)

I've figured out it only happens when I play music. I paused my music and it's fine now.

Yeah here the same. Indeed it does recognize my Fingerprint, but not that fast anymore I had to try several times.

Coming from a clean install of 11.0.10.10 i have no issues with fingerprint. Almost instant. This is my daily driver including for work and is one of the snappiest custom ROMs yet besides the ColorOS 12 i was testing before. I can't find anything not working as should. I am rooted and all is well. Great job @FoxyDrew ! Would love to have these builds go official and weekly.

Easiest is boot the available already rooted boot.img (don't flash it, boot it) from fast boot then after it boots install magisk and root from the app using direct method.

EDIT: Attached a zipped rooted boot.img (boot_patched.img) and fastboot command.

In Fastboot mode use the command:

Fastboot.exe boot boot_patched.img
