My device is rooted since day one. I don't know how to flash a custom ROM without first rooting.
But yes, without MagiskHide, I couldn't use Google Pay. Haven't found another way to make it work.

Unlocking the bootloader and using TWRP/similar is not rooting. Installing Magisk/SuperSU, or similar is what roots the device and that is usually an optional second step after installing the ROM itself.

But alright, doesn't seem to be the exact same situation as me then, but thank you for the info on your experiences
Any others who does not have root who might be able to install the MitID app and check it out? (Don't even know if it is available outside Denmark?)

I'm currently using "NikGapps-full-arm64-12-20211227-signed" as GAPP, but sadly, chrome keeps freezing. I'm currently using a different browser. Has anyone a fix for this?

I had the same problem. I then tried Nikgapps stock, but the device freezes and the screen turns black every time I try to sign in to google (so no way to sign in in google play). Does anyone have a solution?

EDIT: tried flashing everything again, this time with Flamegapps full. I encounter the same problem during setup, screen turns black and I'm unable to sign in to google

EDIT2: solved by flashing lineage recovery, wiped the system partition and installed everything from 0 again

EDIT3: really solved everything by using MiFlash and flashing the full miui 12.5.5. I don't know what happened with my firmware but this solved it

Can someone please confirm if the low microphone volume recording bug for WhatsApp voice notes etc is present on this rom, like it is for the A11 crdroid?

The sound seems louder to me, tested in facebook messenger

Does VOLTE work here?

It doesn't for me, but it worked in previous version. There are some other features missing, but since this is an initial release, we should expect that. I'm sure Ray will add more stuff with time.

I found a possible bug, but it could be me. After a reboot, the phone freezes on the lockscreen for a minute or so. It happens every time after a reboot, clearing cache and dalvik in recovery didn't help. I flashed it clean.

Respected developers on crDroid version 7.x (11 android) I used pixel Q icon pack,
but in version crDroid 8.1 (12 android) there is no such possibility
will it show up in the future?

I moved to Mozilla and fell no need to go back to chrome (even though it is fixed now). I had problems with my banking app, so i moved to google pay. It works fine after magisk tweaking. Love this ROM

Sadly, on my side, it can't install, I get an error message when it's time to restart after the preliminary update preparation. Once I rebooted manually into system (not recovery), it reboot into recovery, but there was no automatic update script running.

After rebooting to the system, I tried to update again and got:
"Install error" after pressing the "Install" button.
