If you're using Magisk 24.0 or newer, you should be able to perform "Install to Inactive Slot" in Magisk after installing the update, but BEFORE you reboot.

If i am coming from miui global do i need to select the slot before flashing. Just changed to this phone and first time sideloading a rom.
just follow the instillation to a T on first page and no to your question
basically same as 11 this video is older and "skip set active a step" but pretty much the same , as stated follow fastoot to a T from first page
This is by design even with stock MIUI ROM.
The only difference is the sound quality. Stock MIUI has better and louder sound.

Hi, I've been enjoying your ROM a lot! I can't believe how much better my battery life is compared to stock.
I have a few questions/bug reports though:
1) is it normal for the battery usage to be extremelly innacurate?
Here's a screenshot with one game taking 273%(!!) of the battery in one charge, which is kinda of funny.
2) The baseline for the color accuracy seems to be set to vivid, even when selected "natural" the colors are way more saturated than original.
Unfortunately I don't have a second (working) device to show it but if you have it it's pretty easy to notice, if it's an intentional change is there any way I can manually adjust it to my liking? I know it's not a feature of A12 because my previous phone (P4XL) had normal "accurate" colors.
Honestly it feels like my phone is stuck in a samsung photo hahaha
3} Open Camera freezes when taking a picture with the "Camera2 API" enabled, I really prefer it over random modded finnicky GCam apps so It makes me a little sad. I had the same issue on MIUI and was hoping it would be fixed on AOSP but it isn't. I don't know if it's a device issue or something that can be manually fixed by me.
I know this is not a ROM specific issue (at least I don't think so) but I'd appreciate if someone more knowledgeable than me could take a look into this issue.
4) I had no problems overall, except a 10% lower score on geekbench but I mostly play light games so it's a non-issue but I'd like to know if anybody in the thread has tried KonaBess (https://github.com/libxzr/KonaBess) and if they had good experiences with it.

Flashed over stock 12.5.6.0 EEA MIUI.
Thank you very much for developing/porting the ROM, despite the few issues I've encountered it has been much much better than the stock os.

Netflix, WhatsApp business both work for me. Maybe you flashed/updated incorrectly - make sure you have the correct firmware and flash the latest version again. Also what version are you using? Vanilla or gapps?
Gapps, I installed via TWRP.
Another error I think, when you place to "transfer files" by usb cable to the PC, the transfer of files does not work. It stays on charge.
should always do fastboot method of installation, now your usb problem go into developer options toggle usb default switch it to file transfer , worked for me
There should be no change in OS behavior if installing via TWRP is allowed.
A friend has the Vanilla version and he tells me that he doesn't have those problems, maybe it's something from the GAPPS.
I have the gapps version and don't face any issues. You should try following the devs recommended installation instructions...
does no one else have that problem when he calls someone it doesn't ring in his own phone but with the called party? I installed everything according to the instructions with the correct fw. everything else works perfectly. can it be because of the German provider?
It does that on mine and I have a USA provider tello that piggybacks off T-Mobile but when somebody picks up the phone it still works , running the gapps version global 12 .5.5 firmware , I will also not rule out this could be a Google phone problem or bug as well since their caller ID announcement does not work as well

I don't have an answer for the first two things but the v4a issue is not rom related. V4a doesn't support android 12 by default, you need a fix module. I had it before and it worked perfectly fine. Just search viper4android android 12 -

it's the stupid reddit app, i had too root my phone and check every process to find the culprit
if installed it is always in the background creating 20% load on the cpu and the cores cant downclock
removed. Boom, cores downclock and idle power is halved3
Yes, you can flash the firmware via the Arrow recovery adb sideload zip command and as lucio28000 mention be sure to ignore signature error.
just to be sure the fw actually updated make a note of your baseband before flashing so you can compare the change.

Reboot in fastboot. Flash arrowos recovery (boot.img and vendor_boot.img):
fastboot flash boot_ab boot_alioth.img fastboot flash vendor_boot_ab vendor_boot_alioth.img
Reboot in ArrowOS Recovery:
fastboot reboot recovery
Make format data (Factory reset -> Format data).
Flash ROM (Apply update -> Apply from ADB):
adb sideload name.zip
Follow what show on device, should be ... Step 1/2 -> 2/2, then flashing ended, can reboot device in system. (In cmdline: If the process succeeds the output will stop at 47% and report `adb: failed to read command: Success`. In some cases it will report `adb: failed to read command: No error` which is also fine!")
If you want install separate gapps on vanilla buildtype, after flash ROM:
Advanced -> Reboot to recovery
Flash gapps (Apply update -> Apply from ADB):
adb sideload name.zip

Install Update (dirty flash):
Go in Settings -> System -> Updater
Downlad new build -> Install
Device will automatically download, install a new build and reboot.

Update arrow-12.0 -> arrow-12.1 (dirty flash):

2) Flash ROM (Apply update -> Apply from ADB):
