You don't need to do this.
has anyone been able to root/magisk it yet? do i need to patch the magisk boot img to boot_vendor, like when installing the a12.1 crdroid rom?
got magisk running: you need to extract the original boot.img out of the stock a12.1 version, patch it with the magisk app and flash it with to the usual boot partition (not vendor_boot).
still got issues with fingerprint unlock tho. i'm able to use it for my banking apps, but it does not wake my phone up or unlock the lockscreen
oh wow, haha. well i'll remember that for sure. ^^
yes, it has. there's also one other screen off animation, but CRT screen off is the best one
going to try that later. i'm trying to dirty flash romfile first, i hope it helps -> it didn't
Yeah, that should also work. I usually rename to zip, but that's just a habit because back in old times I've flashed via TWRP from the phone itself and you can't flash an APK. When sideloading, it's just bytes anyway, but it seems I always forget that.
You can now flash the Magisk.apk in TWRP. I'm not sure if it's all .apks or just Magisk.
Give this a go:
thank you for the answer but it's not the same now playing for pixel 5, you have to choose a database from a specific country and the recognition is very badGive this a go:

I have better battery life (at least on idle) but there were many weird things on A11 for me (this was the reason I've built and updated to A12 in the first place).

AICP is in my plans. I want to try it out myself, we will see.Hey man this ROM has been extremely solid. A small issue here or there but nothing too bad by any means. Thank you again for building, and sharing.
If you do decide to possibly build another ROM, I humbly suggest AICP.
I have the latest running on my HTC One M8 and it has some really cool features!
Don't take this as me not being grateful for this ROM though, it really is nearly perfecto.
I just love variety and trying the different ROMs.
The inclusion of PixelGapps and more specifically the Pixel launcher really does help to make this so close to stock but with an enormous amount of customization.
