The latest OTA update seems to work fine. One major problem though.

I tried to reinstall Magisk after the update, via ordinarily patching boot.img of the newest ROM. After flashing the Magisk patched boot img, CrDroid boot screen arrives to the rainbow eye which continues in loop without loading the sys. I had to roll back to the initial boot.img and thus lost the root.

Has anybody else experimented the same issue? Did you find a solution for it?
Hi, were you able to solve this? got the same issue using latest version, clean flash, etc and get the exact same symptoms.

Edit: symptoms go a bit further from the above in fact. I was able to install magisk, rebooted, flashed the boot image, rebooted, everything went fine... I flashed another module, rebooted, went well... Turned off the phone and only then it got stuck into a loop (the crdroid eye).

Flashed the original boot.img and no more bootloop, but no more root either! In my case it all hinges on the module I installed. cdDroid works normally.

I'm a little bit confused when it comes to flashing firmware. You see, I was on MIUI, my phone is European so I had the EEA ROM it came from factory. Went from 12.5.7 to the most recent which was 13.0.13.0.

I installed crDroid and the gapps, all went fine and I'm already configuring it. However I saw somewhere it required the 13.0.8.0 Global firmware. Do I need to flash that? And how do I proceed with it? I guess I have to use the recovery to do so, but I have never done that before (flashing the FW)

So far I haven't had any major issues, though I've noticed my WiFi connection is dropping rather frequently even with good signal, so I wonder if flashing the correct firmware would help with that and if it is mandatory for the custom rom to work as good as it can be. I guess my phone somehow has the 13.0.13.0 European firmware working in the back, if I'm understanding correctly how this works.

I did a clean flash, and backed up everything before. I installed a June version to avoid that issue.

Hi everyone, I've got a problem when falshing this rom for the first time.

After flashed rom/gapps (coming from AOSP Extended), the phone boot but I've figured out that I didn't wipe properly the data using TWRP (I did not do the "yes" thing").

Then I wiped all the data, flashed rom/gapps and then I've got a boot loop. I redo the operation 4/5 times and impossible to boot again.

Did I miss something in the process ? Or did it take more than 15 minutes to first boot lol ?

EDIT : I just flashed Harrow and it boot normaly, I don't understand lol

When you flash the rom using twrp, before rebooting your device, you must click on the "Wipe" button and then click on "Format Data" where you have to write "yes". Pay attention to the fact that all your data will be lossed (do before a backup if necessary).

So, I returned to crDroid 8.8 31st Aug build and I am currently running crDroid 8.9 13th Sep build.

However, I noticed a couple of bugs.

First one is related to the crDroid dialler. If "Carrier video calling" is active alongside "Wi-Fi calling" in the settings, the option to add/merge another call into an ongoing call disappears/becomes unaccessible. In its place comes the video call button.

Second is related to the Mi Sound Enhancer. Turning "Hi-Fi" on or off when the headphones are plugged in breaks the audio (no output) and only a reboot fixes it. I don't have any magisk module installed except the safetynet fix and I have Audio FX disabled.

Superb thanks. Do I need to use Flame Gapps or can I use Nik Gapps?
Flam or Nick Gapps, it's only a question of personal taste.
FlamGapps are recommended by the developer of crDroid 8 but I don't know, nor can find why.
I prefer NickGapps because their update frequency is greater.

I personnaly use NickGapps-SL, the core version which is the smallest one.
If I need or want to install a Google app not included in the core version, I download this one from the Play Store.

NickGapps-SL for Android 12, NickGapps-T for Android 13.

Yes format so you are starting off on a claen base. Inconvenient I know but necessary to troubleshoot.
Thank you for your help! Unfortunately I could not simply install the current version of crdroid. I had to install and start MIUI first. Afterwards I could install TWRP, crdroid and bitgapps. Nikgapps do not work for me.

Now I am busy restoring my apps and data...

Hi, I used crDroid7 for a longer time and was satisfied, but because TWRP 3.7.0_12-0 seems to handle the former encryption problem with A12 I yesterday flashed this TWRP. Afterwards in TWRP I formatted data-partition without encryption and flashed crDroid8, Flame-Gapps and Magisk. First boot was quick and I restored my apps with Swiftbackup. All went fine and after some time I rebootet into TWRP to make a backup, but now TWRP wants the PIN for the data-partition. Did I miss something like some dm-verity stuff or similar?

At this point I tried to restore an A11 TWRP-backup, but of course it could not write to the data-partition. So I tried to format it, but not even that worked. After next reboot to system I got the message that the data must be initialized and I confirmed that. After that in TWRP I was able to reformat data and restore my old cdDroid7. Now I'm ready for the next try, but what was the problem here?
    Perhaps Try newest ofox 12.1_3

This clearly happened because you didn't do the thing. Everybody knows about the thing. 🤓
Do I have to wear glasses while flashing? If you mean adb sideload, I tried it at the beginning, but received an error message.

i found a bug. Sometimes when touch something on settings menu it freeze, no respond and doesn't enter submenu.. i have to press it again .What cause of this?Any idea?View attachment 5758691
It's long known issue, from the first crdroid 8. Some people here claims it happens only to a certain display panel (mine does it too). One of reason I've abandoned crdroid for sweet.

Fyi, I've tried others rom: evox, elixir, ricedroid, derpfest -- none of them is having this issue.
