Gives error 28 when installing version 1.9. When installing version 1.8 is installed without errors. Tried through twrp and tried by installing version 1.8 to upgrade to 1.9, it gives an error

I have faced the same problem, & i have try to install this update more than 10 times with different download via nokia 6.1 plus, Samsung M21 & via laptop. Every time i face this error 28. Now i am using lineage os & waiting for the next update of this rom.
Elixir is a great rom & i use 2.8 more thane 20 days.
But there is two things that one is camera ( or gcam) not work & another is volume issue.
I hope brother will fixed these two issue as well as error 28 during installation in the next update.

You need to do the repartition of system and vendor image of your device.you can check Raghu Verma reparatition tool.

This is good stuff; I like the Pixel Experience very much. Can we have it show battery percentage when you poll down? (Instead of showing how long will the battery last) and I cannot find the Song Playing Nearby, I don't know if we can use it on Nokia x6, I looked everywhere and when I search in the settings, it shows up but I can't turn it on, I really like this feature if we can have it.

Version 2.0 has bugged the fingerprint after system update, the existing fingerprints can't be deleted also and the fingerprint detects slightly after restart but obviously after restart pin is required and once unlocked with pin it stops working. Pin deleted but fingerprint remains and not accessible. If anybody clean flashed confirm if it works there please. --- resolved after the restarted abruptly, surprisingly the fingerprints were gone and after adding them again working now.

I update version 2.1 via system update manager, and its showing update size 1.15gb but when click on download and install, everytime showing download failed error... please check your internet and try again, but my wifi connection working fine...

If you need step by step guide, maybe you shouldn't flash custom rom? Because it might brick your device.
Anyway, here are the steps:
1. Unlock bootloader: https://www.techmesto.com/guide-unlock-bootloader-nokia-android-phones/
2. Download and install twrp: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/official-twrp-3-7-0-drg-drg_sprout-support-thread.4363643/
3. Download the custom rom you want to install. Copy it to your phone or SD Card or USB OTG.
4. Boot to twrp and flash the rom (you might need to format data and wipe your phone).

- reboot> system

I noticed some bugs after using it for a while. All the gcam I have tested on this rom does not work. The default camera doesn't work too.
Another bug, I set my phone to stay awake for 30 seconds under display. Most times the phone stays awake after 30 seconds and I have to use the power button to put it off.
Finally, the rom charges slowly and the stats are not consistent.
