I have a Moto G Play 2021 Guamna and have taken the following steps.
1) unlocked the bootloader

2) enabled USB debugging

3) downloaded aosp_guamna-img-eng.electimon-Feb-Week3.zip

4) changed the name to aosp.zip

5) rebooted to fastboot and typed the following

fastboot -w
fastboot update aosp.zip

I get a bunch of "archive does not contain *.sig" but it continues on and eventually says it's completed. When I reboot the phone I can see the screen is on, but it's blank. I can use ADB shell and see that there is a unix looking file structure.

I have no idea what to do next. Any information anyone can give would be helpful. I don't mind factory resetting or using the Lenovo rescue tool, I bought this phone to learn on.
Seeing as no one has replied, you need to update the phone or have something in the _b partitions or else you get a black screen

Thank you for replying! The phone came with Android 11 and unfortunately no updates have been pushed to it yet. I've tried individually flashing each file in the zip to both a and b partitions and a bunch of other stuff, with a literal ton of help and schooling from the user on this forum SVOC, for which I'm grateful.
I'll give it another shot this weekend and see what happens.

Tried this out on my Moto G Play (2021) (XT2093-4) (US/Carrier Unlocked). Everything booted, working Wifi.

But didn't read my SIM card.

I wanted more time to test, but it's my main phone and had to revert back to stock before work. 😁

there are official stock rom updates you can download if need be, if its a metro or xfinity mobile version you can flash it to the retail stock which comes straight from moto.

there is a newer version to this rom, but electimon has not pushed it to the server, either way it will read your sim. Still will not work on data/calls since RIL is still not working.

I thought it came with Android 10.

Greetings! I am still getting a black screen when I flash your custom rom and I want to make sure I'm flashing slot B correctly to get things running.

If I flash slot b one of the stock firmwares from https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/guamna/official/ with the following commands
fastboot --set-active=b
fastboot -w
fastboot update <stockfirmware.zip

then swap back to slot a and follow your initial instructions
fastboot --set-active=a
fastboot -w
fastboot update <aospfirmware.zip>

Is this correct, or did I mess up somewhere? I'm tired of using the rescue program and wanted to make sure before I try again

Thank you again for your hard work!

I have a similar situation. What are we missing here? I've read just about every post in this forum. It would be awesome to be able to put an aosp rom on this phone.

@Electimon is this a working rom without any issue? I plan to install on newly bought moto g play 2021 and don't want to lose it in 1st week! Reason - some financial apps meant for India are not working so giving it a try.

Update pushed
August 3rd 2022: Switch build system to jenkins
Performance improvements by switching to pixel power hal, fuse passthrough, pixel usb hal and enforcing: aosp_guamna-img-eng.jenkins-20220803-2212.zip
Does this update allow phone and data? I was reading on the posts before pulling the trigger. As this is my daily driver for the moment, I need it to function for text/data/phone
