hi again, just curious, i have a questions, its more personal i think, btw i just checked xiaomi mi 5 and zuk z2 plus have a 19.1 official, their soc same as we. can we, just copy their base and re write to our base? that possible or not? and how do you learn coding? and make the commits?
Well it is possible to port trees, but I doubt it would work well woth our griffin since it has quite small partitions and moto specific stuff such as moto actions. The main issue with official lineage is the old kernel. To port a new one I would need some C knowledge, which I dont have and understand android kernels.

For building android just check "alaskalinuxuser" on yt. Coding tutorials are on there as well...

thanks for replying, but ah, i think i cant build anything. i dont have pc with the minimum requirement. i just wanna know how bugs can be fixed, how they do with the commits and learn it. my basic experience only when 2014, when i translate my device language from english to my local language with apktools. editing strings, add some extra menu in settings like a superuser.

my griffin is dead now. it happened two weeks ago. screen is broken when i try to replace adhesive (so sad and stupid iam). its cost more expensive than the others. so i decide to sell it and revive my others device, mi4c and mi5, both are only cost around 15$ for two screen replacement. griffin cost around 50$.

Excellent work once again! 2 Things to report. External sd card appears to work fine for data storage so far. Only issue I've noticed is that you can't set a lock screen pin. When you set a pin twice and press confirm, settings crash and it resets to the start of the process. Other than that great work!!

Seems like there are encryption issues. Either try to revert to the last known working state if possible or format your data (not wipe, formatting will completely erase all data on the phone fyi)
I specifically mentioned that dirty flashing from previous versions wont work due to new encryption blobs. I also recommend to use my latest twrp 3.7 build so that you can read your internal storage in the recovery.
Anyways, nice to see another german user here, enjoy the build if possible.👍

I encrypt my Moto Z and also use the fingerprint sensor. I'm currently on an old build of microg-lineageos 17.1 from when it was available from their website (2022-04-15), but looking for something with more recent security updates. Thus, two questions:

    1. Do you think this encryption vs fingerprint issue is solvable in any way? I think I might get into maintaining Android support on Moto Z (though I am a software developer with some Java experience, I've never actually built Android before, so it would obviously take quite a while for me to get up to speed).

    2. Do you happen to know what state the official LineageOS 18.1 is in? According to the wiki, the latest change was made by @npjohnson but I failed to find a forum thread on it here on XDA.

As always, I appreciate all the work you and others put into maintenance of Android on this device.
I dont think it is possible (at least for me) to fix the fingerprint on the new encryption blobs and I wont try anymore. I think keystore is too old, but Im not really into that blob stuff...
Id love to have someone do some roms for the Moto Z, you can check out the alaskalinuxuser videos on youtube and get going. I have some local manifests on my github, that you can use, but some might be kinda dead. Dont hesitate to write me if you need help.

Lineage OS 18.1 is officially released and will get monthly updates. This will be the last official Lineage OS builds we will get sadly due to our old kernel (and no one working on a newer one).

    And thanks for the thanks.

    Introduction
LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 12 (S), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

what is your sim card bro? i use crazy axiata, when every 2.00am network always gone until 30 minutes. i think its radio band, but when i try to check, its only automatic and US.
I'm using telkomsel, also if I'm remember correctly, re-insert the sim card will fix this sudden random signal missing, the only thing that i havent test: using the 2nd simcard slot
