I have zero issues with crdroid so far except that I made the mistake to install NikGapps and now cannot find a way to uninstall it without formatting .data or causing a boot issue.

If I might know, what was the mistake? Do we have to flash the exact same nikgapps zip (and configuration) for each dirty flash? I would like to know so I can avoid making the same mistake. I just use alioth for the last few days and haven't done any dirty flash. Thank you.

That sounds like a firmware issue. Have you tried installing the latest one?

I prefer to flash the same nikgapps every dirty flash and had never problems!

Pre-installation:

• gapps : Nikgapps and Flamegapps are both tested
• Magisk 23.0 for root (after first boot) - (Download from here)

First time installation:

• make use of latest 3.6.0_11-RedmiK40_v3.2_A12-alioth-skkk_1f13aec4.img (check HERE)
• boot recovery
• flash Firmware (minimum requirement 12.5.3) (skip if you are on 12.5.3 or later)
• flash crDroid (toggle auto flash twrp)
• reboot recovery
• (optional) flash Gapps (no auto toggle needed)
• (optional) flash Magisk (no auto toggle needed)
• (optional) flash DFE
• format
• boot system

Update installation: (if on cr8 already)

• skip format

That sounds like a firmware issue. Have you tried installing the latest one?

Installed lastest firmware, but same error : V13.0.6.0.SKHCNXM and V13.0.6.0.SKHEUXM

After 30 min of waiting still nothing. Then I let repeat the process with flashing the firmware again. Ended like on picures .... Please help someone. I cannot load or flash any system now... The best is to go back to 8.5 version with all apps and data

Hi, just try to flash Stuck Miui and then try to flash crdroid as clean flash like the instruction. Take twrp with numer 11 on end. In my cade it helps. I don't know how but after few try to flash the system starts. Hope will work and I helped. Stay calm and flash

Suck at lastest version , but downgrade to V13.0.3.0.SKHMIXM working fine .

Thanks for your response. When we talk about clarification. By "clean flash means you delete /data" you are talking about format or delete?

Obviously my question pointing to the wrong direction. What I was trying to ask was as follows:

I recently run into the situation that updating the ROM to the latest build leads to boot stuck situation which I only was able to solve with reset/format the device and install everything from scratch. For this situation I was looking for a solution where I do not loose all my apps and more important app configuration and app data. Google backup unfortunately only restores the apps installed before but no apps configs or apps data. So in short I am asking for a best practive backup and restore solution without rooting the device.

Is it for example feasable to backup /data within TWRP and restore it after installing ROM and flashing Gapps?

I always back up my apps and app data with swift backup, that works like a charm. Unfortunately, it needs root access, so you're stuck with Google backup if you don't want to root your device.

This is not instructions this doesn't tell me how to do it. I've tried to go into the zip file with mixplorer and extract the zip to change config. Instead it wants to open a ebook reader app nothing pops up to change anything

back gesture has stopped working while i was setting up my device after a clean install. i tried rebooting, wiping cache, installing another launcher and it still doesnt work.

I do not have problems to dirty flash. Just flash the same nikgapps again and the phone will boot.

My only mistake was to flash nikgapps at all. Now I cannot completely remove it without causing boot problems. In other words, I would like to get rid of google playstore and the related data collection activities but there is apparently no easy way to achieve this without formating .data.

(At the moment, I have deactivated google playstore, google framework etc. and also blocked it via firewall. But this is not a clean solution.)
