You must extract the boot.img of the zip file of the ROM. Then patch this boot.img via Magisk App. Then flash the new created boot.img.

I followed carefully every step of the "clean flash" described and installed in sequence:

TWRP_CEPHEUS_Fix_WiFi_v1.0.zip (unless i flash this i cannot have wifi)

I have these problems:
- PixelLauncher continue to stop (searched in the thread on xda but no consistent answers);
- Impossible to access to loaded app list (i'm on NOVA Launcher, last release);
- No gesture from the bottom (no short one nor long one) edges ones are working;

Any idea please?

but no diag port in this rom i turn to stock and diag port show after i rooted the stock rom
i really looooooove this rom but i cant use 4g unless i show daig port

3_ Reboot in recovery and Wipe system, vendor, data, dalvik, cache
4_ Flash crDroidAndroid-12.1-20220726-cepheus-v8.7.zip
5_ NikGapps-core-arm64-12.1-20220709-signed.zip ( only package that worked for me )
6_ reboot in recovery and flash DEF ( do not start the system )
7_ magisk ( optional )
8_ Boot system and done ( For me it worked , no errors in the system ! everything works )
OBS: No need FW AND TWRP_CEPHEUS_Fix_WiFi_v1.0.zip

Hi, I have a similar problem, the gesture navigation does not work for me. When I switch back to the two or three button navigation. The buttons never appear. Even after rebooting the phone.

I found what was wrong, you have to go in settings and display the navigation bar, when you switch from gesture to 3 button mode, this option remains on OFF by default.
Small problem of ergonomy but it works.

SIM in slot 2 is often unreachable for few hours with newest version from 26-07-2022. It was present in some of earlier versions too. When someone wants to call me it says I'm unreachable like with phone off and SMS aren't received too. But phone is on and calls on SIM in slot 1 are working correctly. It resolves itself after some hours or when I restart phone.
Does anyone have similiar issue?

From time to time parts of the touchscreen don't react to any input. Affected is the lower part of the screen around the area where the fingerprint reader is. A bit to both sides and below.
Interesting is that it stays the same when I rotate the phone by 180°. Quite annoying as some letters on the keyboard also don't work.
On landscape mode it seems to work fine.
After a reboot it is working again.
This occurs independent from the launcher I use, happened on Nova and on the crdroid one.

Any thoughts?

I had the same situation. And discovered that is related to customization of fingerprint reader in crdroid menu. That happens over some time when fp animation is enabled. Just disable fp animation and reboot and touch screen will be ok

I've disabled the fp animation earlier today. The issue did not occur again. Seems that this was causing the frozen parts of the touchscreen. Thx for sharing.

I installed the moost recent version 8.7 from 05.08.2022. Clean install. I want to use the Pixel Launcher. I installed the NikGapps stock package (link: https://sourceforge.net/projects/nikgapps/files/Releases/NikGapps-S/21-Apr-2022/ ) . The Pixel Launcher constantly crashes and I am unable to use the phone, unless I switch to the AOSP launcher. I already tried a reinstall with the omni package and install the Pixel Launcher from the store but the issue still occured. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Oh, and the screen doesn't always go on when I lift it, although it is activated. Is there a fix?

Besides of that, I absolutely love this custom rom!
