Hi,
Attention, I tried to install the proposed OTA update, since the phone does not start anymore. The recovery still works but I will have to reinstall everything. Since I had almost no applications installed, I do not recommend using the update.

Did a fresh install with the latest version. Fingerprint enrollement stops everytime by 60% with an error. Same error as by crdroid 11. But there was a fix to change the color of the fingerprintreader. Haven't seen this option in 12.1?!
Someone has an idea?

To anyone having problems with new builds of crDroid.
The latest version showed on webpage is 12, but it's 12.1, and the linked Gapps are for 12. You need to download Gapps for android 12.1 (SL).
Typical issues of wrong Gapps:

• Pixel launcher keeps crashing
• Freezes on anything
• Problems with do anything on the phone - pixel launcher crashes and crDroid launcher
• Missing menus options

I did nothing in particular, the phone offered me to do the update, which I accepted, and since then it is blocked on the reboot screen. For me there is a problem with the OTA update, because the phone was installed for 1 week. I don't have any particular application.

The recovery is still working.

Sounds to me like you didn't flash DFE again. If you flashed DFE with the first install it needs to be flashed with every update again.

Just got a question.
So if I have encrypted phone, and there will be new update.
Updating will be successful?
Or there will be an error, and I will be in need to install it manually (clean).
I don't want to install DFE because I got workspace from my work, and this require encrypted phone.

Of course you an update an encrypted Mi 9 as well. You just can't easily install an OtA update since no current custom recovery can read encrypted data partition and hence wouldn't find the downloaded update.
Instead you need to store the update file either on a PC and from there sideload the update. Or you put it on an USB OtG (on the go) stick and install from there using TWRP.

I don't have DFE installed.
Just need to know if from OTA will work also!!!!

I've been wanting to like this ROM because it supports the current version beyond the arrival of the next for a few months, is clean, supports many devices and has the right amount of customization. But it's too hard to install properly (won't take Gapps Full, for instance, forcing you to resize the system partition), can't survive a simple OTA update and is very picky with every step of the installation, making it useless for family and friends. Other ROMs will update flawlessly OTA. This is crucial to put it on a non-geek's phone. I hope this ROM evolves into something more usable for ordinary people.

The easiest way to revert back to stock is to download it from here:

Choose the fastboot version (a .tgz file). Download and decompress the file. Put the phone in fastboot mode, then run flash_all.bat (from Windows) of flash_all.sh (from Linux). That will install everything for you and you'll end up with the stock rom fully installed.

Never had a problem with updates, I download the rom, install and flash the DFE. If you update via ota, you have to flash the DFE later.
