After the update, on the first boot the phone crashes when I shortly see the lockscreen.
Same issue here :(
Did an OTA, now it crashes right after I see the lockscreen, goes to recovery and shows "Can't load Android system. Your data may be corrupt." and asks me to do a factory reset :/

Tried adb sideload which failed with "Error applying update : 7 (ErrorCode::kInstallDeviceOpenError)". Not sure what else I can do.

Sadly I couldn't get anything else to work.
I'm guessing that it is because I had usb debbuging deactivated when another app blocked me from using it with developer options activated.

I had to factory reset and then my phone booted without issues into the new update.

*: To append what I tried:
I tried sideloading the last 3 PixelOS updates with OrangeFox, TWRP_SKKK and last 3 PixelOS recoveries. Every time I got the same error. (7 kInstallDeviceOpenError)

After the last ota my phone reboot into recovery mode and when I try to sideload the update to dirty flash I have this error. Please help me, I don't want to lose all my files 😢
Try flashing other recovery like orangeFox, twrp etc. and try sideloading.

I switched back to Pixel Experience using clean install.(Flashed MIUI then PE ROM)
Most of the search result suggested the same, But few shows that it is possible to update by changing some "assert" command in rom zip. (Dont remember the exact file name.) You can try that method if data recovery is important. But i would suggest to clean install just to be safe in future.

Had to re-enroll fingerprints again and had to restart device after each fingerprint was registered.

This is latest update.

Everything else seems fine. Battery going down quick but need a day or two to really see if any different. Restarts probably hammering the battery.

Came here to post the same thing, wouldn't even let me setup fingerprints after the initial reboot, simply no response from tapping on the option.

EDIT: just rebooted again to check twrp and it let me add the rest of my fingerprints without issues.

20 June 2022 latest OTA update is safe to use?
I use OTA for this version and I didn't experience "fatal" issues like mentioned by the others. I do still experience intermittent crashes to reboot when I plug my charger in. Ridiculous, but I also had a big issue with MIUI for not auto switching to better wifi with the same name. So yea, not sure there's a better option out there.

PixelOS is an AOSP based ROM, with Google apps included and all Pixel goodies (launcher, wallpapers, themed icons, google sans fonts, Monet color based system wide theming, boot animation), a fork of OG Pixel Experience with improvements on the top of it. Huge respect to Pixel Experience team for their work, thanks to them for making this ROM possible.
In short a fully functional Pixel Experience with just the right amount of essentials.

Code:
/* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/

Improvements over PixelExperience
Performance improvements from ProtonAOSP
Adopted screenshot sounds to ringer mode
3-finger swipe to capture screenshots
Double tap to sleep on lockscreen and status bar
Added Screen Recording Customizations
Added Advanced Reboot
Allow disabling Screenshot Sounds
Added Bluetooth headset battery indicator
Spoofed as Pixel XL for Google Photos for unlimited backup in original quality
Added themed icons for a lot of third party icons in stock Pixel launcher
Added monet in power menu
Exposed legacy WiFi and Cellular data QS tiles
Added bluetooth battery level indicator on status bar
Added NFC tile in QS for supported devices
Added double tap/long press power button to toggle torch

• Download ROM from the link above
• Download Magisk v23.0 or newer (optionally)
• Reboot to recovery
• Format data (if encrypted)
• Flash ROM zip
• Reboot and voila!
• To get root access, reboot to recovery after ROM setup and flash magisk.

Updating to a newer build (dirty flash):
• Flash ROM zip and magisk (optional)
• Reboot and voila!

I have got the same issue.
After the update, on the first boot the phone crashes when I shortly see the lockscreen.
I flashed the previous recovery, tried adb sideloading and I flashed the current recovery and tried adb sideloading.

Both are giving me the kinstalldeviceopenerror ErrorCode.
Has anybody seen this and have I got any options to recover it without having to factory reset?
I have same error

Hi,
how did you install 3.6.2_12-RedmiK40_v3.6.2_A12-alioth-skkk_442bc266.img to replace the OxygenOs default recovery?
thank you very much for the instructions you can give me
Follow the youtube video i have posted. First install a previous skkk twrp with fastboot boot name.img and then copy the last skkk on the phone connecting it to a pc, then install recovery on ramdisk and reboot to recovery. It asked me my password and decrypted the data. It was a life saver!

Anyone notice that the 'Green' LED on top right keep on flashing sometime ? many times a day... i think is the location indicator. Even the phone in lock screen.... the light is on.

    any issue ?

The green dot indicates that an app is using camera, mic, or location. If you swipe down the notification bar you can identify which app is using the mic or the camera by tapping on the icon.

weird behavior on the battery percentage...

    1. Drain the phone battery to 0%.
    2. Plug in power to charge, don't power on the phone.
    3. When it's 100%, turn on the phone.
    4. It will shows 50% charged.
    5. Restart the phone, it will go back to 100%.

    anyone experience this ?
You should charge and decharge your phone when it's on, so the phone can calibrate the battery

So, though I do not like MIUI... at all... I thought I had nothing to lose trying to use the batch script to load the xiaomi.eu ROM. It's a 4GB file but it didn't take too long and I extracted it, booted the phone to fastboot and ran the windows batch script. It seems to have worked, so I have a functional OS again. So I'm kind of back at the start. Can someone point me to an IDIOT proof installation How To for Pixel OS?
    1. download PixelOS -> https://pixelos.vercel.app/download/alioth
    2. download PixelOS Recovery -> https://sourceforge.net/projects/pixelos-releases/files/twelve/alioth/recovery/
    3. download Android SDK Platform-Tools -> https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools
    4. unzip platform-tools_r??.0.0-windows.zip and copy PixelOS_alioth-12.0-2022???-????.zip and boot-alioth-2022????.img inside the unzipped folder (in the same folder where adb.exe and fastboot.exe are)
    5. power off phone and power on with power + volume down (going to fastboot)
    6. plug the phone to your computer and check if the phone is recognized: run from terminal (from the platform-tools folder) "fastboot devices" (you should see a device listed)
    7. run "fastboot flash boot boot-alioth-2022????.img" and after some seconds you should get a finished message, then unplug the phone from the computer
    8. reboot the phone in recovery mode ( power + volume up )
    9. do a "Factory reset" -> "Format data/factory reset" (you will loose all data, so do a backup before)
    10. go to main screen of recovery mode and select "Apply update" -> "Apply from ADB". Plug the cable to the computer
    11. run from the terminal "adb sideload PixelOS_alioth-12.0-2022???-????.zip" and wait the process to finish (reaching 100% from terminal - and Step 1/2 / Step 2/2 on the phone). Unplug the phone from the computer
    12. go to main screen of recovery mode and select "Reboot system now"
You will lose TWRP (but at this time TWRP is not working with Android 12 encryption, so better use PixelOS Recovery. It'll support also OTA update).
You need to have also the bootloader unlocked.

Edited: fixed the command "fastboot flash boot boot-alioth-2022????.img" adding the missing the "boot" option.
