Thanks for the ROM! First time flashing anything on my S9 and everything seems to work great! There were some animations which are laggy (switching / clearing apps from recents) but that seemed to have smoothed out the more I use it. Battery life and performance have increased a lot!!

Uhm, don't use the stock wallpaper, it cause lags.

Is there a way to use it unrooted and to record both sides in a call or do I need to root it?

And if I need to root it is there a way to use bank apps like Revolut on it because I need both, call recording and bank apps?

My fix for safety net is to eneble Zygisk,deny list and flash universal safety net fix and after reboot clear Google play service data reboot again and your phone should pass safety net and banking apps will work

Hello again, the default camera app shipping with the ROM is too lacking imo, I'm unable to update the google camera app via play store, from apkmirror, or even this port. In all cases it just fails to install the app. What's the recommended way to upgrade the camera app?

Thanks for the suggestion, but I got it working with this BSG google camera apk, everything except front camera is working right now, i'll see if I can get it working later

I did the update from Android 10 via System - System update. There are little issues I can live with.

However I lost root. The official Magisk steps require patching the AP image etc. I tied installing Magisk via TWRP, but still no root.

How can I obtain root again?

Make a clean flash(wipe dalvik/cache, system, data, vendor, flash build.zip) and use TWRP latest for Magisk.

Where do I get build.zip ? (Google returned no meaningful results...)
(I always strugle with rooting my phone. I do that every two years or so and it's a pain.)

Update:
I made it work. Here are the steps.
1. Install latest TWRP
2. Install latest Magisk (in TWRP)
3. Wipe dalvik/cache

That's it. I realized that build.zip refers to the main download of this thread which is called evolution_starlte-ota-sp2a.220505.002-05211008-unsigned.zip

This has already caused a burn in on my phone (I see " 0 4") burned in and is now irreversible. So I ask to modify it such that it moves and doesn't stay in place in one place.

I need AOD because I have a "green screen" issue, and switching on AOD is the only thing which fixes that

I guess it's Google's stock AoD so I couldn't do anything about it.

I see many annoyances with ROM have been fixed without me reporting them! there is another one though which I don't see mentioned in changelog - sometimes when I'm in an app, and I swipe and hold (to access recents), the screen glitches for 2 seconds, and I have to keep swiping up to return to recents. Video of bug (also see missing pause icon + extremely slow OTA download speed):

1. Looks like AOSP bugs.
2. It's your network being slow
