Official A12 builds are coming soon, just ironing a few things out. The constant whining and ETA's are rather annoying, so please refrain from doing so and keep in mind my life doesn't revolve around Android.

Sincerely,
Evolution X Co Founder & Project Specialist, Anierin Bliss

Alternative installation method:

* Download Evolution-X (ROM zip & Fastboot ROM Installer) and extract the files.

* Copy payload.bin from the ROM zip to Payload Dumper, specifically to Payload Input folder.

* Run payload_dumper.exe and wait for extraction to complete.

* After fully extracted, go to Payload Output folder and copy all the image files to the main folder where fastboot files are located.

* Connect your device to PC

* Reboot your device into fastboot mode

* Run ROMinstaller.exe

* Wait until all images have been flashed

* When done, go to recovery mode and factory reset (wiping is a MUST if coming from another ROM, it's not required if you're updating)

* Reboot to system and #KeepEvolving
do i still need to be on OOS 11 for this alt method to work?

pretty much your saying i can be on any A11 rom to install this rom? another question what is the best kernel for this rom

No I'm saying you should be on 11. Not betas, versions will have varying results based on how efficient they are but ultimately yes you could in theory be on any 11 ROM, I would update to 10.10 then install it.

Kernel?

There is no best kernel, it's apples and oranges.

I use stock, it works

is the Telegram channel locked intentioanlly. I have just moved to Op8 and i found the Evox telegram channel but the very thing of chatting in a chat group is blocked for some reason.

Yup admins locked it. Too many people asking ETA/ When questions. Rather than ban or kick those people they locked it. And funny enough a couple admins had a bit of a discussion about something on the locked group about something non Evo related. One of admins left TG for some "time off".

Oh that's not a good situation I thought it was an unspoken rule not to ask eta etc. I just wanted to know about battery life Sot and if the rom passes safety net without having to root. I'm happy using Android 11 version they seem to be misty stable anyway.

The admins of the telegram group seem to be on a power trip with the prolonged locking.

is anyone having same problem with me? I just flashed this, and noticed fingerprint doesn't work anymore? finger print scanner doesn't show up, nothing even if I move my fingers all around to find it. it actually is convinced its google pixel and trying to do pixel imprint instead of fingerprint. not sure what happened here.

That was unnecessary tbh, usual xda drama in TG feels bad

I agree, the group has been closed going on 2 weeks, just because ppl were asking for ETAs. A bit excessive. I know devs HATE etas - and trust me I feel for that - but it comes with the territory if we're being honest. If you think you can stop the annoying wenETA folks you're the millionth to try and will be the millionth to fail.

Not to mention dev said he'd release A12 build on Christmas - over a month before Christmas. Then just kinda ghosted everyone when the 25th came around. Why do that to yourself and put a release date on it at all? I know the dev has a life and has no obligation to release anything for anyone, but when you start the hype for a release a whole month early - for the most popular ROM on the forum - and then completely ghost, are you surprised people were asking about the release? I'm not saying asking wenETA will EVER be okay....but if it were to ever be okay, it would be in that exact situation.

They give timelines due to people moaning about ETA's, to make them hopefully stop it.... life gets in the way...so if you need to know who's at fault for the origin of why the dev would assume it's fair to provide a date.... Then look at the people who are asking for ETA's in the first place..

Overall has there been such a difference between android 10 and 11? Does anyone think 12 is going to bring some kind of megalithic update that we absolutely have to have right now? No it won't, it'll be a shell change which will offer very little in regards to functionality, the odd tweak here and there but not much more, in fact battery will probably be worse, maybe performance and we may even lose features; in all honesty asking for an update doesn't merit the absolute crap it brings with it.

If people haven't worked that out by now then they're beyond helping.

Just to be clear, of course I'd like to have the latest and greatest, but someone else is doing this for me, they owe me nothing, I don't even know their first name, favorite colour, if they're dealing with turmoil in their life or if they have a really hard life in general, so until THEY decide to release anything, I'm more than happy with what I have right now.

If anyone is selfish enough to think they're owed more than exactly that then they're very much mistaken.

Before this discussion derails I should probably mention that it has caught my attention.

Just please – pretty double please – don't let the Telegram drama seep into XDA threads. Of course, we feel your pain and we all want something shiny and new (even though it's not always an improvement, as stated above) but it's really important to give our valuable developers the space they need.
...I thought it was an unspoken rule not to ask eta etc...
This is mostly correct. The hairs of seasoned XDA members rise upon reading any "NEW VERSION WHEN?!" comment but there's ETA requesting and there's ETA requesting. A friendly "would there happen to be any new version in the making?" when a thread has been quiet for a while doesn't harm anyone. In the end it's all about respect.

Thank you all, best wishes for 2022 and stay safe!

I wouldn't advise this, as a friendly "is there anything currently being developed" will soon turn into, "when will it be ready?"

And you're back to square one..

Either way. I think everyone gets the message.

Personally don't think telegram should even be used on XDA, too much information gets lost to it, but that's me.
