[ROM][12][BECKHAM] PixelExperience 12 OFFICIAL [AOSP]

I recently installed the latest PE 12 on my Moto Z3 Play (XT1929-4)...Besides the headache of an install, I eventually got the rom installed and noticed a couple things having issues if anyone has any idea:

• Settings app crashing when trying to select "SIMs" or "WiFi"
  • This one is a big issue since I rely on WiFi with this phone entirely and I can't switch the WiFi networks right now
• Moto Mods Projector seems to crash often when using the software button
  • Seems to work fine when using the hardware button

For the install I followed these steps:

• Ensured I was on stock rom Android 9 (phone came with 8)
• Flashed PE 12 recovery
• Format then sideload `copy-partitions-20210323_1922.zip`
• Format then sideload retrofit `aosp_beckham-ota-retrofit-eng.aicp-dev_2.zip`
• Restart to System
  • It booted PE 12...now I am thinking it may have been already installed from previous attempts...but the procedure says to sideload the PE build after retrofit is installed and "Format your data and reboot to recovery.", but this step would "brick" my device and I would either have to install the stock rom again or somehow get the fastboot working again

I installed 12+ and I just noticed that under settings/apps it says all the Pixel apps are installed but when I look through my apps they are not there.
Also, all notification sounds will play once and after that they don't work.

Ofc they are, the stock pixel ones are there, and maybe your google backup has bringing some different reference to notification sounds

Thanks for the extra detail....the step that confused me is that retrofit appears to be a full blown PE OS...so I actually thought the OS got fully installed and I needed to stop there. But once I booted into retrofit, I reboot to recovery and then sideloaded the actual PE zip/build and everything is working much better.

I noticed a bug with the Moto Mods Projector on the beckam Z3 Play...after a reboot the software button to turn on the projector doesn't work and I get a message that the projector is not connected, although it is and the notification for the battery status is there. I have to unplug it and plug it back in for the software button to work.

In addition, I get the message that `com.motorola.modservice.fmwkwrapper keeps stopping` although the projector still stays on.

I've had funky issues like this testing a Moto Z2 Play with PE 11 as well and was hoping issues would be fixed for the Z3 on PE 12.

After installing I'm finding I have almost no bars for mobile data. When no WiFi is available most of my apps just say "can't connect", and messenger just gets stuck on Sending.

The phone also on restart comes up with a warning that it can't do a security check and to lock the bootloader which I did in Developer options. It also says the Verity is in disabled mode.

I am on the following PE 12 version:

PixelExperience_beckham-12.1-20220523-1042-OFFICIAL

And if I try to install the June 20th update I get an “Install error” message and then I have to download it again and continue to get the same message.

As my post below, I tried the update and I get an “Install error” and forced to redownload the update again. I had a proper install with the May update. So wondering if this needs to be a fresh install then.

yesterday I installed the room following all the steps mentioned above, but some applications don't give me the option to use the SD card, in Chrome for example it says it doesn't have enough space, why?

SD as internal is broken in previous version 20220523-1042 and my guess it's still broken in this version too.

All SD data (if formatted as internal) get broken after update; if you do a clean install the SD Internal works but all data is lost after some time or reboot.

For anyone having trouble with mobile data, I can confirm that going back to STOCK, as has been suggested here, works. For reference, I have the XT1929-8 (EU) version.

I installed PE11 with PE recovery and then followed the the guide in post #2. After having no luck with the mobile data, I went back to STOCK (converted my partitions back and then recovered the device using lmsa) and then installed PE11 with TWRP (manually wiped /data, /system and /vendor), flashed PE11 recovery and followed the guide in post #2 again. Boom, working data.

Yes, because it just pop up everytime battery mod works, so I disabled. I can't go up to framework and insert some hackery that can affect other devices
