You can root it by extracting boot.img from the firmware archive with the help of payload dumper and patching the file with Magisk manually. Then you can flash it in fastboot mode.

I installed the app but then I cant find the app to install the update. I cant find "system update" app

I'm confused by your response. If you installed the system update.apk from my post, make sure you have the full ColorOS 12 roms on the root of your internal storage you want to flash. Open the 'System Update' app you installed from your launcher and hit the gear button on the top right side of the screen. It will show you the ROMs you have on the root of the internal storage and you just click to install. Its how i went from C.09 to C.10.

I'm confused by your response. If you installed the system update.apk from my post, make sure you have the full ColorOS 12 roms on the root of your internal storage you want to flash. Open the 'System Update' app you installed from your launcher and hit the gear button on the top right side of the screen. It will show you the ROMs you have on the root of the internal storage and you just click to install. Its how i went from C.09 to C.10


I try to install the apk. First time installation ends, system update apk os missing. I try to install Another time and installation aborts

Bro, just to make sure im doing the correct steps cause last time when trying to root C.09, i got a bootloop, so:

With a clean installation of the C.10:

1-Unlock BL
2-Setup process and then install Magisk
3-Reboot to fastboot
4-fastboot boot boot.img (the one you attached)
5-Booted into the rooted img, go to magisk and DIRECT install
6-Reboot and we are rooted right?

I really want to hace the C.10 rooted to remove all the bloatware and chinese apps draining battery.

EDIT FOR BUGS FOR C.09 - OP 8 PRO:

1-There is no switch for mobile data type (3,4 and 5G) it stays 4G and 4G+ all the time (not a problem for me but could be for someone else)
2-Notifications still a problem for some apps (might depend on what u use)
3-Vanced apps don't work at all (YT and YT Music)...they both open but no network
4-Have to be logged on into your 1+ account on the system to install external APKs

Still having problems with vanced? Try setting vanced microG and vanced yt and yt music battery optimization to unoptimized, then clear data for yt and yt music. Figured that COS kills microG in the background due to battery optimization.

Also, somewhere in the APP INFO settings page of vanced microG and YT vanced, "allow the app and others to start itself" (or something like that, I forgot the specific setting name).

Vanced microG only applies if you don't use the root method of vanced. I personally don't, because YouTube from the play store gets limited to 60 fps only, while YT vanced app itself doesn't.

The update wiped my OS11 Open Beta 12 system.

The Open Beta is without german language. No problem, but the english translation ist incomplete.

A lot of apps cant remove.

After first boot in cant find any Google App, first i had to Install the playstore.

I cant find the android autofill service.

I go back to OO11

What is the best way I could go from Paranoid Android Sapphire 12.0 to this? I don't want to brick the phone so whats my best option.

Also is it possible to do it without deleting all my SD card stuff? I don't mind wiping the APPs and whatever, but I have a lot of pictures that take forever to backup and reload.

Also is it pretty close to daily driver?
