I've had this issue on PixelOS actually, the only thing that helped me was factory reset.

I flashed pixel os and I have been daily driving it for the past few days and here are my observations:
1.The battery drain is awful, it's barely lasts 7 hours with moderate usage. In pixel experience the same usage lasted me a entire day or even more.
2. The animations are smoother than pe and that's the only good point.
3. There are sudden hangs(sometimes)that are very annoying.
4. Certain things on clicking take time before opening, like i was in settings and whenever I would click a setting, it would take some time before finally opening it.
Final verdict, go for pe if you want battery life, no hangs, go for pixel os if you want smoothness but by comprising some things.
Also pixel os used neternels which is the reason I think it's more smooth but I think they haven't optimised the rom according to the kernel correctly.

Both VoLTE and VoWiFi are supported but I don't know how to test if they're actually working.

Set it to 4g only via *#*#4636#*#* , make a call using your simcard . If your carrier support 4g/Volte then it should connect

Use GSam to determine if your phone goes to deep sleep correctly, if it doesn't, you have to factory reset/reinstall.

When installing this ROM, you must also install the 13.0.4 EEA firmware. Without this firmware, the phone misbehaves, CPU mismanagement and battery drain occurs.

Are there any side effects of using a "different" firmware than you're supposed to? Do you know what is the difference between the firmwares?

Firmware is basically a set of instructions that governs all the processes in a system, there are regional firmwares that tell the system how to perform with the cellphone towers, what bandwiths to use, etc. Other than that you can install any firmware on your phone, but I would advise you to install your regional one because it will provide the best battery life.

I've noticed one bug after updating to this version,
phone services is accessing location every time I pick up the phone. even though location is turned off.
