Hello all. Just installed KOSP 2.4. The only issue i noticed until now, is that the Fingerprint sensor does not work well. I had to try many times until my finger is recognized. I tried factory reset and reinstalling ROM, Tried setting up 1 finger multiple times but still same problem. I did not have this issue on stock ROM or Xtended ROM. Can i do something else to provide data for troubleshooting?

Yo have to install the ROM in the same slot as you were in OOS. I had the same issue as you. Try unlocking the bootloader and flash the ROM. Check for what slot is set on. Everytime I update I make sure I stay on Slot B. By setting it up in recovery... Hope this works

Oh ! And with the KOSP installed on the b slot, Widevine is L1 even if the bootloader is unlocked ?

How do you make sure to install KOSP on a specific slot ?

Edit: just checked, and seems like the default slot is slot b which is the same as OSS. Maybe you have a more detailled HOW-TO guide of how you install this ROM to keep Widevine L1?

Do i need TWRP for this? Or does it have a pre-installed recovery? Also do I need to follow lineage os instructions to copy a to b partition??? Thanks. Just got the phone I know the rom installation process is a lil different from phone to phone

Instructions from 1ST PAGE!

First time installation:
  • Download the fastboot zip, It ends with -img.zip.
  • Boot to bootloader
  • fastboot update --skip-reboot --skip-secondary zipname
  • Now reboot to recovery
  • Factory reset in the recovery
  • Reboot system

So i just finished the process and got QUALCOMM CrashDump Mode... any ideas on where to go from here? I think its because it was the Tmobile variant but I had seend someone else in this thread with th T-mobile variant as well

FIXED

1. Issue was because latest exe files for fastboot weren't up to date. So i installed those

2. HD1907 does work I just had to do some flashing. To get to 1.0.5 OOS i had to flash Global firmware on the HD1907 (T-Mobile Variant) then i was able to skip T-mobiles 1.0.1 OOS. That's a whole other process though.. Click here for thread

3. To exit the QUALCOMM CrashDump Mode i literally just entered fastboot oem lock in fastboot and then unlocked it again. Worked like a charm from square one and continued from there.

TLDR; HD1907 works but you have to flash global firmware to then go to KOSP. Works great, just make sure you update android sdk for development before beginning,

Needs to covert T-Mobile to Global before trying custom roms

Bro I just updated the post with that exact link. Did you even read my post? Lol. But yes you are correct it needs to be converted, took me a while to figure that out

The device controls still shows on lockscreen when disabled in settings (settings→display→lockscreen→show device controls)

unknown option -- skip reboot
this is showing when i put command fastboot --skip reboot --skip secondery zipname.zip
what is fix for that

    KOSP is a small project based off AOSP and we intend to improve upon AOSP to provide a stable and better alternative to OEM roms with additional features.

    There are some cool features, see for yourself :D
    Truth is I'm just lazy to write a long list of features and we intend to focus on the stability rather than adding a ton of features.

    Gapps is included!
    Note:
    • hotdogb has dropped sdcardfs
    • We are enforcing and safety net passes out of the box

    What's broken?
    1. You tell me :)

    Bug reporting:
    • DO NOT report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
    • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
    • Do not approach us without any logs for reporting bugs
    • If it is a random reboot, grab everything from /sys/fs/pstore. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
    • Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.

    INSTRUCTIONS

    First time installation:

    • Open Settings -> System -> KOSP Updater
    • Download the ota if available or if you have already downloaded the zip then use it for local upgrade
    • Install the update
    • Flash magisk to inactive slot (optional)
    • (optional) Reboot to recovery if you have anything else to flash

    So I downloaded the Normal ZIP (one without -img.zip) and tried to adb sideload in recovery. Worked for me.
    If its not working then try a older version like 2.6.
