I have a problem freshly installing the rom (coming from LOS11), following instructions in the first post.
After extracting super_empty.img my device reboots to the orange fastbootd and I'm getting an error:
extracting super_empty.img (0 MB) to disk... took 0.000s Rebooting into fastboot OKAY [ 0.004s] < waiting for any device > Sending 'super' (4 KB) FAILED (remote: 'Download is not allowed on locked devices') fastboot: error: Command failed

Tried sideload with the recovery.
Following error :

E: Current SPL : 2022-05-05 Target SPL : 2022-03-05 this is considered a downgrade
E: Denying OTA because it's SPLdowngrade.

However the file downloaded and sideloaded was KOSP-2.7-hotdogb-user-OFFICIAL-GAPPS-20220503-0502.zip

Hotdog User here, Was facing the exact same error :
Sending 'super' (4 KB) FAILED (remote: 'Download is not allowed on locked devices')
fastboot: error: Command failed
So I downloaded the Normal ZIP (one without -img.zip) and tried to adb sideload in recovery. Worked for me.
If its not working then try a older version like 2.6.

Tested the Rom, works great but is there a way to get the "Do not validate" the CA certificate in the Wifi settings back? Pixel Experience 12 has it for instance. Or is there any other workaroud?

Tried to install newest OTA via internal updater but getting error 20 everytime. Got these error also in the version before at the beginning of may but could install the whole image instead of the OTA only via updater. Right now I just see the small OTA package at Onedrive. Will there be a whole image again for updating manually?

Regardless, thanks for continuing these project already!

Hi,

The latest update which I think was the May 22 one or something like this had a lot of serious bugs and it was removed. I have updated but it has random freezes and also the mobile data is very unstable.

So I think the best you can do is to wait for the next build.

I had issues with the May 3rd build too, it was really hard on my battery, my SOT was really bad with that. This new update fixed that issue, but created new ones.

I like the rom but there are too many glaring issues for me, especially lockscreen authentication. Fingerprint reader isn't worth using because it takes years if it actually even works in the first place, never had any issues with it in any other rom. No auto enry once pin is correctly entered, you always have to hit enter and there is no way to toggle it on. Gaming mode is garbage, not that anyone has to use it, I'd just like to have a decent one, especially since I can't remove it. Not enough customization and quite a few bugs, likely because it's emulating a pixel for no reason. Auto brightness is just short of a seizure warning. I'd love to try it again once a lot of these issues are fixed

KOSP is a small project based off AOSP and we intend to improve upon AOSP to provide a stable and better alternative to OEM roms with additional features.

    Features

There are some cool features, see for yourself :D
Truth is I'm just lazy to write a long list of features and we intend to focus on the stability rather than adding a ton of features.

    Gapps is included!
    Note:
    • hotdogb has dropped sdcardfs
    • We are enforcing and safety net passes out of the box

    What's broken?
    1. You tell me :)

    Bug reporting:
    • DO NOT report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
    • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
    • Do not approach us without any logs for reporting bugs
    • If it is a random reboot, grab everything from /sys/fs/pstore. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
    • Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.

There is a qs tile which you can use.
