What is that supposed to mean?
this means that the firmware will no longer be updated.
do u mean the derpfest rom no more update for OP9 P?
There will be no more updatesdo u mean the derpfest rom no more update for OP9 P?
how to switch to other custom rom from derpfest?
Why? What happened?
what happened?
someone stole the work from someone. the news in the telegram was that the development of derpfest was completed.
What work exactly. Don't all these various developers take this and that from each other, building what they have in mind, and then credit each other?someone stole the work from someone. the news in the telegram was that the development of derpfest was completed.
Based on what I read its because DerpFest is not open source (or at least not fully) so the argument is that DerpFest devs can "steal" from others like crDroid but they can't use anything from DerpFest. What work exactly. Also, if we're no longer getting any updates, what now? This is a good ROM but it is by no means bug free nor "complete". How long before there are security implications for users?
Oh... Yeh that's ****. Very unfortunate, I did some research not too long ago and derp was regarded as the go to, sorry to see it go. I know I should probably wait to see what people now switch to before re doing my whole set up seeing as there is no urgent need, but knowing myself I will probably switch to crDroid after work tomorrow. Hopefully that works as well as derp, I like as much customisation as possible and I've had a few issues with Stag.Based on what I read its because DerpFest is not open source (or at least not fully) so the argument is that DerpFest devs can "steal" from others like crDroid but they can't use anything from DerpFest.
How to flash boot.img to both slot from derpfest to nameless? For anyone looking for recommendations to switch to, I ended up moving to Nameless AOSP https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...o-12-1-0_r5-nameless-aosp-2022-05-14.4403301/
It doesn't have most of the customizations options like what there is in the Derp Settings menu, which kinda sucks. But everything that was broken for me on Derp(USB data to PC, fast charging, live wallpapers soft-bricking the device, etc), all work fine. And while I was having TONS of rom crashes on Derp, I haven't had a single crash so far.
I didn't have to revert to stock or anything like that. I just flashed the Nameless boot.img to both slots, then booted into recovery, did a factory wipe, then flashed the rom to both slots, then booted up. After I restored my backups through Google and setup my apps and accounts, and booted back to recovery and flashed the latest Magisk to both slots, and I was good to go. Their recovery has a "switch slots" button to make it easy to change between slot A and slot B, without having to use fastboot.
I did exactly the steps I listed in my post. I downloaded the boot.img from Nameless, flashed it in fastboot, rebooted to recovery, factory reset, flashed Nameless rom, booted the rom and setup my apps, went back to recovery and flashed Magisk. That's it.How to flash boot.img to both slot from derpfest to nameless?
All others said must downgrade to OOS11 before u can switch from derpfest to Nameless, is not true?
so no bootloop when u switch direct, not as most ppl said must downgrade to OOS11 first, then....?I did exactly the steps I listed in my post. as I understood, this is only required, when you are coming from OOS12.so no bootloop when u switch direct, not as most ppl said must downgrade to OOS11 first, then....?
let me know how it goes, and if you find any big difference.Oh... Yeh that's ****. Very unfortunate, I did some research not too long ago and derp was regarded as the go to, sorry to see it go. Also upon some thinking, what "USP" as it were does derp even have, other than maybe the launcher? It all seems ripped from various other ROMs I remember using in the past, just in a very stable package with no major issues.
let me know how it goes, and if you find any big difference.
I am also interested in crDroid as I have the feeling this is the most active ROM.
Derp has more customisation than crDroid? That's a shame. I thought crDroid was a newer re skin of Resurrection Remix, basically a all out customisation ROM. I've found customisation in derp quite lacking if I'm being honest. Better than Stag I was on previously, but nothing like the custom ROMs of oldI personally really enjoyed crDroid but there was a really irritating bug with the ROM where I kept having to press power 3-4 times every time to get the lockscreen to show up on my device. Eventually it ended up making me call 911 somehow and that's when I decided to switch over to Derp. This was about a month ago. Derp has way more customization features than crDroid so I'm a bit sad to leave it. But I'm not sure whether to try CrDroid again or switch to Nameless.

thank you so much for your help. just that it was the first time i got such an error so was not sure. it worked.
You could rename but if I'm not mistaken it should work long as your in the folder with the boot.img like cd Downloads(or path) then fastboot flash boot boot.imgwhile flashing the boot(lemondep).img error message lemonadep is not recognized in powershell. can i rename and flash. thanks

Copy and paste should work also.
I'm sure you already know fastboot devices
will list your device if everything ok
I hope this could help. Also if nothing else you can copy path of folder with fastboot in it while placing file you want to flash in Fastboot folder if fastboot/adb isn't universal. There is guides and tools here on XDA if that would need to be an option. I'm sure you knew most of this but I wanted to give a complete answer just in case you or anyone else was wondering.
