The "Phone" application is the dialer itself - if you delete it, the phone will receive incoming calls. You will not be able to answer, or call to somebody because there will be no answer button, but when a call comes in, the phone will play a ringtone and see sim card. "Phone - Services" is part of the Android system. If you remove it, the phone will not receive incoming calls or call to somebody even if there is a dialer - phone won't see sim card. You will need to reflash the phone so that you can call.

Did you miss the part where I said "reinstalled it"? But yeah, haven't found a fix yet and it annoying cames up all the time.

1. What happened to the advanced reboot option in developer settings? I've looked a few times and can't seem to find a way to turn on. (My eyes aren't the best). I wish to be able to hit the power button and choose to reboot into recovery.

go to Settings > System > Gesture & Keys. Scroll all the way down and you'll see "Enable advanced restart".

You can block the location permission for Phone Services with "App Ops" from Play Store as workaround! I did that and works fine..

The hw/softkey/capacitive button backlights can't be configured in this ROM. Any chance this could be added? I prefer the on screen buttons and in full screen applications sometimes I'll keep accidentally hitting the capacitive buttons instead.

- GCam 8.2.300 v1.7 from Nikita
- XML file for version 8.2 that you linked
My problem is that when I record a video with the gcam, the volume is very low (I have to turn it up to the maximum to hear something), and what was recorded is heard intermittently and it's like a noise. I tried uninstall and reinstall gcam, clean flash of many DerpFest build but the only way to have the camera working for me, and for now, it's install 09/02/2022 build.

Ye I have the same "issue". I don't remember which build changed it, but it's because of the noise reduction. In my experience noise reduction really ruins the audio quality. Had the same issue with LG G2, where ROMs which didn't have noise reduction enabled sounded way better.

Best is always clean installing. You could try simply flashing derpfest. Imo worst case it will not work and you need to format it anyway. I switched from elixir too but made a clean install and switched to twrp before.

Phone services (not the Dialer) accesses detailed cellular information which is considered to be location information. It's a base OS component serving the intended purpose and shouldn't worry anyone. I don't know why it's showing up more often now. Just flash latest build from GDrive. It's now excluded. I just don't have time right now to spend a whole day uploading four files to two hosters. I have uploaded official builds on GDrive for both devices already. I just don't find time for the rest.....

For both devices again. That's why also changes from last dumpling build are in the changelog.

Device Changes:
- Sync with latest Lineage changes (includes latest dual sim changes)
- KeyHandler: Vibrate when switching to and from total silence

ROM Changes:
- Merge May Security patch (android-12.1.0_r5)
- Use system color accent for privacy indicators
- Let screenshot window ignore screen decorations
- Add Phone services, Google Search and Google Location History to location indicator whitelist
- Prevent whitelist packages from appearing in privacy dialog
- Settings: Fix Android Beam switch bar content
- ThemePicker: Fixes a crash when lockscreen wallpaper is different from home screen wallpaper, or some other unknown case

I did all that and derpfest is stuck on booting screen, its been a while. Dunno if its because its the first boot or something went wrong :s.

After the update the always on display is active by default even if it's disabled in the settings. So it's impossible to turn it off.
