New update for LineageOS-19.1 RMX1931/CN

📱 Device side changes
* Switched to source built HWC
* Fixes to fingerprint scanner
* Removed buggy forced 90hz
* Enabled encryption (Requires data format now & have otg with you from now on)
* Misc changes

Instructions for starters from rui1 firmware:
1. Flash rui2 firmware of your variant listed below
CN firmware only file: RUI2.0_F.10_RMX1931CN
Global firmware only file: RUI2.0_F.14_RMX1931L1
2. Flash rui2 supported recovery Recoveries for RUI2
3. Reboot recovery
4. Flash lineage-19.1 package & Google apps
5. Format data
6. Reboot to the system

Notes:
Clean flash is always recommended, dirty flash will work but at your own risk
Don't flash Magisk it won't work & isn't my concern.
Formatting user-data using fastboot method will switch the default file system to f2fs, so it's recommended to format only using Recovery

As usual download links in OP
Thanks to the testers & contributors
I am unable to boot the ROM. I do the initial configuration perfectly, but when it gives me the option to choose the launcher it crashes (with either of the two launchers), what is the reason? And how could I fix it? Thank you very much ;)

Hello! I'm not using Pixel Launcher. After flashing ROM (before flashing NikGapps) I:
1. formatted data,
2. rebooted to recovery,
3. copied the folder NikGapps with the files debloater.config and
nikgapps.config to /sdcard (I'm using FARDroid in Far Manager with adb),
4. copied NikGapps-full-arm64-12.1-20220709-signed.zip to /sdcard,
5. flashed NikGapps,
6. rebooted.
The config files I extracted from the Gapps zip (afzc folder).
Then I edited the files for my preferences. My files are in the attachment.

Hey, guys! Need a bit of help- I flashed the latest rom, Gapps, and then formatted, but when I try to reboot to the system it keeps rebooting to the recovery. Would really appreciate someone helping me out here.
Thanks!

Hello! Try another GCam Mode. I removed stock camera app using debloater.config while flashing NikGaps (or Debloater.zip).
debloater.config:
/system/app/CameraGo
/system/product/app/Camera2

Downgrade to Android 10 RUI 1 using Recovery and FORMAT the phone before rebooting (very important). Then run in-depth testing (follow the guides found online)
Make sure to format the phone right after downgrade.
done. thanks.
query. Is this ROM currently worth it? Or can you recommend me another one? by the way, mi phone is rmx1931 GLOBAL no CN

LineageOS is a free, community-built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 6, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.

  • Camera
  • Display
  • Encryption
  • Face unlock
  • Fingerprint scanner
  • GPS

  • Disabled Encryption (For a while until we get a newer recovery)

  • Maybe something else can be found as well
  • Most of the lineage features maybe buggy or probably won't work, LineageOS team is working on it
  • SELinux is permissive

Report bugs:
  • DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
  • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
  • If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log

I managed to find a NGapps, which I installed with Lineage, but it's totally buggy. I used Orange Fox recovery to install both.

I'll try redoing it and see if that fixes everything. The phone is showing as a Pixel phone in the About Phone section, so I'm currently thinking I somehow got hold of the wrong Lineage package.

Many thanks for the clarification on the Gapps package to use, too

I'm using the latest recovery - twrp-3.6.2_12-0-RMX1931.img,
the latest ROM - lineage-19.1-20220729-UNOFFICIAL-RMX1931.zip,
the latest GAPPS - NikGapps-full-arm64-12.1-20220709-signed.zip (without Pixel launcher and some stuff)
and I'm not having any problems. I wish you the same!

I tried two more times and finally got it to install properly, after gradually learning what steps I needed to take to make it work. I couldn't find a proper step by step guide that went from unlocking the bootloader using ADB on the desktop, using one recovery to decrypt the data partition and wipe it, then another to install all the bits before you even get to Lineage and Gapps. The full NikGapps didn't work for me, so I found the core option on Soundforge and used that. The only issues I had were that the crDroid wouldn't load, just a crash-loop, so after a bit of mucking about with the Pixel Launcher, I reverted back to using Nova. The other issue is with Seedvault. Hopelessly awkward app, so I abandoned it, but it keeps throwing up notifications telling me I need to complete setting it up, despite trying to shut it down completely. I wish I could delete it, but it's baked in.

There are a number of bugs with it which are very, very annoying, but both the internet and SIM connections are much stronger. Usual loss of certain apps that are not compatible, and I miss the mini windows, app sidebar and Gamespace folder from ColorOS. A LOT!

The Accessibility sidebar doesn't work and the fingerprint sensor, which used to be great, is awful now.

On the plus side, the latest ish Android should mean it's more secure and some of the new features are interesting. It will certainly keep my phone going another 2 years or so.

But I wish all the resources you need were all available through site links if nothing else from one site! I had to do a lot of searching and guessing and risk taking to get it all together. And I really miss the Realme X2 Pro camera app. The Lineage default camera app is rubbish and whilst I installed an APK of the Pixel camera, which is better, it lacks some of the features on the Realme app.

I would find it very hard to do the whole thing again, as I can't quite recall how I did it last time! 😂

I agree, Realme Camera App is the biggest loss of what is on the stock firmware.
I'm still using GCam_7.3.018_Urnyx05-v2.6. This is the fee for the convenience of custom ROM.

Interesting to see that kernel 4.4 will get official lineage 19 support, but 3.8 and under won't. As my Realme X2Pro is 4.1, though, it's in no man's land 😂.

I imagine that the phone is getting long in the tooth for you now, Karthick, but I do hope that you are able to move the phone onto that platform or get pretty close to it.

The current issues with Lineage 18 and 19 for the phone have prevented me from making the jump, but my previous phone ported to lineage very well and so I live in hope that you will be kind enough to get us there with this one. If you're thinking of moving on to another phone, please let us know. I'm very excited about the recent news. In the meantime, thank you so much for your tireless work on the phone to date, I'm so grateful for developers like yourself working for undeserving people like myself. It's truly appreciated.
