How to install this ROM with storage encryption?

I made full data format. Installed ROM. But no encryption at all :(
Used TWRP from first post 3.9.11

Installed over the weekend, from MIUI 12.5. Latest cipherOS version (CipherOS-2.1-SHADE-cipher_tucana-20220112-1435-OFFICIAL-GAPPS.zip).

Note that the 'wipe data/system/cache/...' instruction does not work, the twrp you linked would throw all sorts of failures of nonexistant partitions, when coming from MIUI. Even copying to /sdcard was a problem, since it was mounted, but not writable. Took me a while to figure out to unmount it, then adb push, then i could install.

Even during install there were some error reported because of partitions, but in the end, it worked all right. Got the feeling the cipheros .zip would re-partition or something? Can I go back to MIUI from here @alibei ? Without black magic, that is :D

The fingerprint reader behaves really weird, it's almost like the fingerprint on the screen is positioned below where MIUI was placing it? And I consequently got a read only when placing my finger a bit more up.

I think my fingerprint sensor needs a recalibration, do I really have to go back to miui to do that? Is there a painless way to do so? like, backing up /data completely and then restoring it?

One more missing feature, there is no gesture for flashlight. Been using it for ages, really handy, even MIUI has it, also lineageos has it.

Otherwise, works great, fingerprint being unreliable is a big hit, but working on my finger placement skills. :)

Hi, that partition error is weird. Also you have to format data, no wipe. No partitions get resized or something.

The fingerprint sensor is at the same place as in miui. Looks like there did something go wrong while you installed it.

You can try to use migrate to backup everything (requires root though)

Yes, Cipher does not have a gesture for the flashlight yet.

One more question, in the pixel launcher that is in the default gapps cipheros (I went for this one as this version seems to have been tested by most), there is a huge gap between the favorites bar and the on-screen buttons. Like, almost enough to fit another row of favorites! Why is that, I'm sure google didn't release pixel launcher like this? Also, the maximum rows/columns is limited to 5x5, but icons are really small, so I got small icons with lots of gap.

Is there some developer setting that covers this? Or anything else I can do, besides installing nova launcher?

Cipher does not ship the pixel launcher. It uses a modified version of the stock aosp launcher

Hi the ROM works great. Everything works. Including the FOD. All lenses work and is stable. For better pictures use a modded GCam. Another dev is working on a custom kernel. Till now it looks promising.

Cipher does not ship a google camera. You sure you installed it correctly? Did you format data?
Hmm.. I'm going to try it again now. Could you tell me the perfect order so? So I wipe the dalvik cache, system, vendor etc. etc., then flash the 12.5.4 firmware, wipe Dalvik cache, reboot to recovery, then flash Cipher and then GApps, then Wipe Dalvik Cache and Reboot to system? That correct or is the order wrong?

Wipe system, vendor, etc
Flash Cipher Vanilla or Gapps version

Reboot
