Build is up! Light bar still "breathes" when screen is off. Will check to turn it off competely on screen off.
Just installed it. So far so good! I'll let you know if I find anything.

I notice that Pian0Play0r mentioned installing the h264 patch. Do you recommend doing so or we should wait for a new patch?

Thanks again for your hard work!

You can use the same patch. The file does not change over android versions unless I change it (It's device specific). I prefer video playback in the browser because I don't use netflix etc so for me personally the patch is not needed.

If there are more people using the patch than people who don't ill enable the codec again in next build.

Got it!

Have been using your new built for a few hours now. Very smooth (surprisingly, smoother than 12.1) and so far, no apparent issues. Awesome!

Just a small comment: if you haven't already done so, you probably should update the link to the latest version of Mindthegapp on your first post :)

I've just installed Android 13 as well and I gotta say I'm impressed, works pretty well so far, quite smooth.
I'm enjoying the new taskbar and split-screen changes, although I really miss the crDroid customizations, especially for the statusbar.
The codec patch is definitely necessary, otherwise YouTube and Twitch stutter horribly in 60 fps. For the browser I use Firefox where videos seem to work fine regardless, probably because of the different engine.

A couple issues I've noticed though:
  • Like someone mentioned, the official bluetooth keyboard doesn't connect even though it pairs, however my bluetooth speakers also don't connect either after pairing successfully so something seems wrong with the bluetooth
  • When selecting show volume panel on left side it doesn't do that
  • The settings don't have a dual pane layout anymore

Thanks for your hard work @michie

Thanks for the feedback, appreciate it! Will look in the bluetooth issue.

Love it! First time booting, connected to wifi and a few updates. Working on getting everything installed since it glitched out when first logging into google said no network was available, when already logged into wifi. Magisk was a cinch, just installed the apk and it auto installed and rooted after a reboot. Burning up the data for now to get everything setup, but will check back in later. Mostly use my tablet for plex streaming and (my limited) smart home control.

edit- Ok, after rooted and a couple reboots, it wants to load the backup from google. perfect!

You guys are really legends, really huge huge thanks. I bought the device second handed with mind that I'd be migrating to iPad within a year. Somehow I'm still using this device with the newest features out there. Really can't thank you enough. Thanks for everything.

Great build Michie! Thanks a ton!

Anyone else without audio? I know that's something you said you needed to work on, Michie. I don't have any.

What's wrong with usb transferring? It works perfectly my for me :)

Btw, got a connection to the camera's again:

Code:
CameraService: onDeviceStatusChanged: Status changed for cameraId=1, newStatus=1
CameraService: onDeviceStatusChanged: Unknown camera ID 1, a new camera is added
CameraService: onDeviceStatusChanged: Status changed for cameraId=0, newStatus=1
CameraService: onDeviceStatusChanged: Unknown camera ID 0, a new camera is added
CameraProviderManager: Camera provider legacy/0 ready with 2 camera devices

Now let's see if I can get them to work with the Android 13 framework.

Did you get around the face unlock? I need to disable it in the configs but could be that I forgot about it.

I made a new build but it doesnt boot, need to check why and fix it. It's just been really busy with work and school atm that I didnt have the time yet to check :)
Yeah i did, you just need to select the pattern instead of pin and select set it later, that will take you through it.
I can imagine but still well done for the impressing work! 😄

thank you very much for all the work and bringing life back to our pixels c.
What next changes are you planning to bring? Do you think it will be possible to bring back 2k youtube or fullhd netflix?
What are the pros of that shield 9.0.0 firmware?
    Thank you again
I've put alot of work and time in our device tree to clean and upgrade everything I can which makes it easier to port future android versions. Will check if I can make it treble compatible too.

The firmware itself wont make much difference without decent kernel drivers supporting it but let's see what I can do with our old kernel.

With spoofing we might be able to bring back widevine but let's do one step at a time 😁

My dad bought a 2022 mid range tablet. Feels way more sluggish compared to the pixel now 😎
