New build up!

- Improved UI performance (Smoother Animations)
- Improved multitask performance
- Updated device & vendor props
- Upreved audio HAL to V7
- Enabled H264 Codec
- Ported Shield Health HAL
Thanks for your hard work!
I am having problem with the PlayStore. Nothing will update, just get the "pending" notification, I have cleared PlayStore Cache, cleared data, uninstalled/reinstalled.. all to no avail. Possibly related , my Moonreader app won't connect to DropBox.

I did dirty flash, but used Mind the Gapps arm64 for Android 13. Should I try gapps for 12l? Any advice you could give would be apprciated. Thanks!

@michie @heyChristo,

This new build is incredible! As far as the issue with the game "Pokemon Go"...so I did download the APK and installed it.

Once I got past the initial screen to verify DOB and etc, once the game fully launches, here's the error that I've seen in the past.

Not sure if perhaps Magisk could help with this?

Screenshot attached.

Awesome! Thank you @michie, you rock!

Probably a very newbie question, but when going from a previous v13 built to a new one, should we always do a clean flash? I would assume not as the core of the build remain the same, but no harm in asking the experts about it! :)

First flash of ArrowOS 13 should be a clean flash together with the gapps package made for that android version. Every update after this untill ArrowOS 14 can be a dirty flash.

I also advise not to do a dirty flash from a different rom like Lineage.

I noticed that on GSI roms (followmsi's GSI thread) the pixel C has L1 Widevine since Treble devices have it by default- might it be feasible to release Arrow with an a/b partition scheme with existing fixes you've done to circumvent some of the spoofing/Widevine stuff?

The amount of performance and battery life this ROM enables on this ancient tablet is just incredible. I pull it out much more often now!!
Yeah I'm planning to rebuild the device tree and make it treble compatible. Let's see how it goes

@michie,

Part of me wants to start fresh with a clean flash. Is there a recommended way to backup and restore apps with this rom?

@heyChristo,

Is there a specific version of Magisk for this device that I should be using?

I think I'm going to have to root in order to pass the Safety checks with Magisk.
For many, many reasons, you should only run official magisk which is only found on John Wu's github: https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/

The only reason that I made that comment is because a few pages back somebody posted a link to another random magisk build that is a modified branch of the original. Rooting in itself puts your device at some minor security risk, but installing random magisk apk's from unreliable sources takes that risk to a whole other level. Of course, there may be very specific reasons for running a modified version and that is up to y'all.

In regards to backup, I just let google do its thang and restore apps after a clean flash.

    Dirty flash just fine over the build I installed back in November. The other one was causing some battery drain much faster the LOS in battery saver mode. Recently the tablet was dying in a few days vs. a few weeks. I am hoping this update solves that one. Thanks again for keeping this one alive. Let me know if you need me send you a beer!

    thank you very much for all the work and bringing life back to our pixels c.
    What next changes are you planning to bring? Do you think it will be possible to bring back 2k youtube or fullhd netflix?
    What are the pros of that shield 9.0.0 firmware?
    Thank you again
    I've put alot of work and time in our device tree to clean and upgrade everything I can which makes it easier to port future android versions. Will check if I can make it treble compatible too.

    The firmware itself wont make much difference without decent kernel drivers supporting it but let's see what I can do with our old kernel.

    With spoofing we might be able to bring back widevine but let's do one step at a time 😁

    My dad bought a 2022 mid range tablet. Feels way more sluggish compared to the pixel now 😎

    New build up!

    - Updated CPU firmware to Shield 9.0.0
    - Updated GPU firmware to Shield 9.0.0
    - Updated xusb firmware to Shield 9.0.0
    - Fixed Led bar behaviour: Made my own variation to have a dimmed lightbar when screen is on so it does not disturb in dark rooms and turns off at screen off.

    Also cleaned our device tree.
