working well thanks michie
Dirty flashed over previous build, no problems at all
Flashed it last night. Dirty flash. No issues whatsoever. Everything runs smoothly (including the LED bar). Awesome!
I've put alot of work and time in our device tree to clean and upgrade everything I can which makes it easier to port future android versions. Will check if I can make it treble compatible too.thank you very much for all the work and bringing life back to our pixels c.
What next changes are you planning to bring? Do you think it will be possible to bring back 2k youtube or fullhd netflix?
What are the pros of that shield 9.0.0 firmware?
Thank you again
Make sure you wipe everything properly. At what moment it stops booting? What happens?Hi, i flashed this rom with clean flash and twrp 3.7. It doesn't bootbuild 27 nov
No problem after dirty flash.
Thanks for your effort to make pixel c shine again in 2022!I've put alot of work and time in our device tree to clean and upgrade everything I can which makes it easier to port future android versions. Will check if I can make it treble compatible too.
The firmware itself wont make much difference without decent kernel drivers supporting it but let's see what I can do with our old kernel.
With spoofing we might be able to bring back widevine but let's do one step at a time
My dad bought a 2022 mid range tablet. Feels way more sluggish compared to the pixel now![]()
Hi, thanks for the reply. I tried deleting system and data, but I also tried deleting all partitions except internal storage. I install the rom zip, wipe cache, restart and it doesn't start, it stays on the boot animation. Also after this failed installation, nothing works anymore because the partitions are 0MB. I have to put the stock back and try again.Make sure you wipe everything properly. At what moment it stops booting? What happens?
OMG!!! Together with a $8.99 brand new keyboard I shipped for free from Walmart - this is now the best Plex player ever...New build up!
- Updated CPU firmware to Shield 9.0.0
- Updated GPU firmware to Shield 9.0.0
- Updated xusb firmware to Shield 9.0.0
- Fixed Led bar behaviour: Made my own variation to have a dimmed lightbar when screen is on so it does not disturb in dark rooms and turns off at screen off.
Also cleaned our device tree.
$8.99 for the actual Pixel Keyboard??OMG!!! Together with a $8.99 brand new keyboard I shipped for free from Walmart - this is now the best Plex player ever...
I included the link... Not sure why it says "Robot or human?"...
It did arrive fast enough. Brand new in the original box and all.
Great deals I thought mine was a steal NIB for $20 lolIt did arrive fast enough. Brand new in the original box and all.
I was so happy with @michie's build - I set mine (32GB) up as a Plex player for my wife and ordered a 64GB from ebay for $120. Looks like the seller raised it a bit since.
With Plex on it - 32GB is more than enough.![]()

For me - 64GB is worth the price as this is my "laptop" for flights and I tend to carry a lot of media on it for offline consumption
Win-win!
I had this exact same issue and had already written a post about it but then I checked my tablet one last time before posting to make sure and the keyboard just worked every time all of a suddenThanks for the new build, michie!
The only thing that I'm having issues with that's preventing me from using this daily is the keyboard. I'm having pretty constant drops with the connection. Now, even when the tablet does recognize that it's connected, the keys aren't registering at all unless I unpair/repair it.
Anyone else having these problems? I know the keyboard connection dropping just is what it is, but the new non-recognition of the keys is super annoying.
Low state of charge maybe?I had this exact same issue and had already written a post about it but then I checked my tablet one last time before posting to make sure and the keyboard just worked every time all of a sudden.
But yeah, initially the keyboard only worked when it was freshly paired (right after putting in the code). I can't really tell you what did it though. Re-pairing it multiple times? Changing the input language temporarily? Not sure
No, that can't be it because for the first time (I think) Android actually shows the percentage of the keyboard battery in the bluetooth quicksettings and it was over 90%. Also I let the keyboard charge a bit.
