I have to say this is a nice build, and as others have said, it does have a few bugs but the most important thing for me is the fact @michie has made it a painless build w. enough gAPPs to avoid trying to find a compatible gAPP set AND security fixes. It is the latter that frustrates me with Google and other Android phone/tablets that you can't even get OTA security fixes. The fact I have an iPhone 6s Plus that still gets security fixes & is on the latest iOS 15.5 says a lot for Apple's commitment to their ecosystem. Google not so much as they continue to introduce and then drop products, sometimes in only a couple of years. The Pixel C screen compares well to my iPad Pro M1 10" & is far crisper than my MS Surface Go 2. Even than, NVIDIA TX1 is still relevant since it performs well with my NVIDIA Shield TV that I purchased in 2015. So well that I have three of them since their really isn't anything that comes close (Apple TV 4K maybe if you want to pay more & be limited to the wall garden). There is also the Nintendo Switch that is still going strong on the TX1+.

As a developer myself, one of the problems with Google TX1 variant Pixel C, is that they didn't even license NVIDIA's GPU drivers which showed in Shield TV - Pixel C comparison benchmarks by using an open source (reverse engineered) kernel from Nouveau.

Anyone looking into the NVIDIA's open source Linux drivers recently announced? I for one think it is probably not worth the time on seven year old tablet, but if someone did try it, I would be happy to test your build.

Thanks for this ROM, it works well. What's with the pixel light bar on the back though, it's going mad, flashing like crazy, going on at totally random times even when the screen is on or off?

Switching between apps causes the other app to redraw 95% of the time sadly. Does this need a zram tweak?

I did flash the Unified Kernel however as that fixes the CPU slowdown that Google programmed in with battery age.

As performance degraded too heavily on pixel experience I decided to end development. I recently started testing Arrow OS which provides a fast clean custom AOSP rom for our device. I will open a new thread for anyone who is interested.
While I loved pixel experience for the simplicity and delicious pixelness, you're right, it's super slow. Decent for videos and playing a couple games but even Plex is laggy in it. Looking forward to your next adventure!

Sweet, thanks for your hard work, I look forward to trying it. It's much easier with the tablet to change ROMs, no banking apps etc :).

This ROM is poor in gaming. I tried Genshin(3D) and The Tribez(2D) on PE10, they are smooth but on this ROM they are laggy. I do really like this ROM but I think it can be more much better.

New build up based on Android 13!
Installed it earlier today. So far so good and it looks awesome! Performance seems to be same/similar to Lineage 20.0 (and thanks for including the Wifi code changing setting!).

Edit: after using it for a day or so, I went back to Lineage. Performance somehow degraded and it became very unpleasant to use. I even tried to use FDE.AI in an attempt to tweak and optimize the built. It helped but it never got to the same performance level as Lineage.

Google Pixel C
New build up based on Pixel Experience Plus
LOVE it! This is the first time since i rooted my Pixel C that I have been able to play music from a thumb drive with any mp3 player.

The only weird thing so far is that the "tap screen to see info" option worked fine the 1st time I booted my tablet up, but now it doesn't. Not s deal breaker in the least though, so far everything else is great.

Thank you for your hard work to keep these great tablets going!

Hello. I would still like to find a Pixel Expirience 11 or at least 10. Still, Pixel Expirience gives a complete experience as if it were a Pixel tablet that never stopped at Android 8.1
(In Moscow, my Pixel C was restored by soldering the matrix cable. The tablet is straight cool and feels confident on LineageOS 18.1, but bugs haunt).

Do you mean the LCD cable?

Do you have any information on how it was done? I have several lcds with that issue
I don’t know how it was done, but somehow they soldered it and glued it with the same epoxy as it was on the back of the cable.
I immediately started looking for ads for workshops where iPhones are repaired. They don’t just repair iPhones at the modular level, but specifically they restore iPhone cables. iPhones have different cables from one layer to 3-4 layer cables, well, I write to them like this:
There is a Pixel C tablet, there is a break in the matrix cable. Restore it? Once you restore the iPhone cables, will you master this cable?
They said yes, you will have 5 thousand rubles (about $60), come.
I came to them on Saturday, they said on Monday evening we will do it. As a result, on Monday, at about 11 o'clock in the morning, they wrote that your tablet was ready. Given that the workshop is open from 10 am
If there is no soldering skill, it’s better not to climb there again. And so, look for ads on your local sites, look at the reviews of people who turned to certain workshops, communicate with people, people are still not stupid, they will get to work if they have the skills to solder such things, why not the Internet. Yes, they will set a price for the work, well, they still want to eat the same. They live by it.)
