If you have Android 13 and you want to flash newer. Just flash it and restore magisk if you need. This probably has been answered already, but here it goes: Do i need to do something special before i dirty flash an upgrade ? Like clear pattern/password, etc. ?
You need old MIUI because my rom uses stock vendor.I was on the official MIUI 13.0.4 when I traded my Xperia 1 with Poco X3 NFC.
unlocked the bootloader then able to flash a number of custom roms available out there.
only this one never boots on my device.
it just stuck on the Poco bootsplash then reboots itself.
not sure what's causing that as other custom roms are able to boot just fine...
It's always advisable to use recommended vendors/fw for respective roms whenever mentioned.ah, I see...
if I flash older Vendor, I take it that I won't be able to flash custom rom that uses newer Vendor?
if I flash older vendor, how do I get back to Vendor from MIUI 13.0.4?It's always advisable to use recommended vendors/fw for respective roms whenever mentioned.
For nitrogen osif I flash older vendor, how do I get back to Vendor from MIUI 13.0.4?
Glad everything worked out in the end.I got an error -7 trying to flash the 10 Dec update. Does anyone have this problem?
Edit:
Downloaded Nov 22 update. Upgraded from Nitrogen 12 to 13.
Redownload 10 Dec update and all is good. Hash signature matches for both downloads of 10 Dec.
PS: remember to flash Vendor.
by firmware, are you referring to the stock MIUI?For nitrogen os
1. Flash vendor zip
2. Flash nos zip
3. Format data
To flash oss based roms
1. Flash recommended firmware told by the devs of roms
2. Flash the rom you want(next gapps if necessary)
3. Format data
The firmware zip are available separately. Also, if possible try Telegram groups. It's easier to direct respective websites, files and can discuss with other users who use Surya(X3) tooby firmware, are you referring to the stock MIUI?
is there a TWRP-flashable zip? 'cus I don't want to go all the way to use the Mi Flash Tool
if I flash the vendor image provided in the first post, will I still be able to flash custom roms like below?
- crDroid
- LineageOS
- DerpFest
- Pixel Experience
- PixelOS
List of things you might want to do after the upgrade:Nitrogen 13, Clock widget not working on Nova launcher. It shows a white box.
Edit
Tried with Quickstep launcher, the clock widget says cannot load. Therefore it is related to the Clock app.
Edit 2:
Fixed by clearing the Clock app.
Thanks !1. Flash the vendor...zip. No need to reset
2. Flash A13 build. Something old. I used Nov build
3. Dirty flash to latest
Hey look! new build.
New build on SF.Hi @xyyx can you please include this in the next build? Thank you.

It's not "spamming" it's updating, pretty common for anyone who regularly uses tech forums. I've got ArrowOS flashed just fine, it's only NitrogenOS I'm having issues with. You could also stop the "spamming" by providing basic instructions, or answering a single question in this thread, or structuring your current instructions in such a way that they work in the order described, or have your links lead to the correct files. Anything like that would help stop what must be such a massive inconvenience when people ask a question. Or you could just continue to leave it as obscure as possible and minimize the amount of users, making all of your extremely hard work completely useless.Oh. I thought Xiaomi's users can flash ROM without spamming. Sorry. I was wrong. If you can't flash something, use MIUI. And you will be happy.
