Unfortunately, the contacts app doesn't work, resulting in my whatsapp not finding any of my contacts either.
The problem is that I cannot import a vcf file "You have disabled a required permission". However, all permissions are already granted. It doesn't request access to files on device.

I've tried:
- Adding contacts manually does work, but it's a pain that I don't want to go through for 300 entries.
- A different contacts app will be able to import contacts, but won't sync with Whatsapp or the original contacts app. I can't change the default app for contacts.
Any advice please?

Edit. Other issues include:
- sometimes spontaneous reboot after an intended reboot when connected to pc
- phone app crashes when I try to look at settings > Display settings
- whatsapp stops when I try to look at contact settings
- minor detail but the feature of a 24h format in the status bar clock is currently unavailable.

Firmware: tried both on V13.0.3.0.SJKMIXM and V14.0.1.0.SJKMIXM. Clean flash, ROM version 13.5.5 No GApps.
Tried the recommended Spark recovery as well as TWRP.

probably u must give internet access permission for all google apps, play services included

Thanks for replying, but that's a different way to import contacts. I'm not pulling them from an online backup, it's a vcf file from storage. I had the network permission on, but it shouldn't need internet access permission for importing contacts from file.
Secondly, I don't have play services or google apps, and isn't messages an AOSP app? It shouldn't need any google apps either.
In the end I ran Spark 12 which worked better. Didn't have this issue.

Been using this ROM for several months and I really like it overall. I have one concern, though - no matter what I do, I can't make 'OK Google'/'Hey Google' work to launch the Google Assistant. Any ideas what I might be missing, or is this a known bug with this ROM?
