This is my trick: Save Magisk APK directly inside /data partition. This folder isn't encrypted and you can find it inside your phone each time you flash a new OTA update. Yes, you have to do this manually each time, but you have the file easy to find and use.I have two noob questions guys
1. Why are recoveries no longer able to request password decryption and show files normally?
2. I don't want to use DFE I prefer to stay encrypted. I flashed Magisk right after the ROM using ofox official recovery.
but now that i am no longer able to decrypt files in recovery mode, will i lose magisk/root if i do OTA update? Does that mean a rooted phone will require a clean flash with every update?
As far As I understood, when you are encrypted you need to Format data und use dfe in order to prevent encryption. Is this correct? So with the latest 2 Releases, encryption cannot be enabled anymore?
Just asking because I am using this Rom As a daily driver and prefer having encryption, dmverity etc. enabled.
If you format data, data is automatically encrypted. That's why I keep reminding people to ONLY use DFE if totally necessary.

Hello, I have a problem, I installed the latest rom with correct data cleaning and orangefox, I put all the apps on my device and everything worked but when I reboot the device, the screen to enter the pin turns on and off the screen several times and returns me to orangefox.
Is it a bug?

It's format DATA partition, not wipe/clean option. It does make a difference.
So if you formated Data partition, flashed ROM, DFE and reboot. Do not restore any backup afterwards.. Run setup as a fresh device and see how it behaves. If all goes well and there's no issue, format Data again, reboot and setup device wih backup, but uncheck System settings - do not restore that. And see how it goes.

No, you're not. Only when the certain build bootloops and won't boot with a clean flash.
Ok so I'm new to this Data backup thing, how do you do that? On TWRP, there's a backup option for Data, Vendor, System etc.

I couldn't get into the recovery to do that, the problem being that recovery was broken.
That said, I did manage to work it out. I went and looked at the PRs for the new Orangefox and worked out its only changes were encryption key wrapping related. I was running a pre wrapped encryption key build of the ROM. The new version of Orangefox wasn't handling that correctly, so it was crashing.
I flashed back the older recovery, formatted data and system, installed the latest ROM. After getting it set up, I flashed the new recovery again and now everything is working.
Hopefully this will help anyone else who comes across it. If anyone is running the older versions of the ROM still and wants to decrypt, the same author has an earlier build of Orangefox that successfully decrypts the older encryption format in Orangefox. Would recommend.

On the build from 22.01.2023 "evolution_raphael-ota-tq1a.230105.001.a2-01220928-unsigned.zip" everything with root works fine. But on rom from 25.01.2023 after installing root device return to recovery.1I'm used to install updates by wiping caches/system/vendor and flashing latest update, but with the latest one I lost fast charging.
The fix if someone is experiencing it is wiping caches/system/vendor as mentioned above then flashing the correct firmware for your phone then flashing the update. I though this could help someone else.1
Same OTA doesn't work for me since I formatted to f2s, no biggy, just doing sideloads. -

18The final update for January is out! FM radio is back, FOD flickers have been fixed, screen off FOD unlock has been improved. Regarding FOD unlock, it no longer times out when the device is sleeping, so screen-off unlocking is more accurate/responsive. Those are the most significant changes for this one.
