I had to flash stock ROM. Couldn't even get a custom ROM up for some damn reason
Thanks Dev, another great ROM option. Install was easy, no issues at all. Haven't tried any Kernels, or root yet. My only "issue" is Call Screening activating. I have the Google phone app, and it's updated. Hopefully it fixes itself, as that feature is indispensable

Install this apk for UDFPS customization's in Settings > The Evolver > Lockscreen to show up. Will be available by default on subsequent builds, just missed something minor in source.
I had the same issue flashing radioactive in fkm; I re-fastbooted the vendor.img; then adb sideloaded the rom without wiping. My data was still there. I then patched the evox kernel and I have root. Custom kernels may not work with this build.

Thank you for the work! I've always been a fan of the Evolution ROM! Glad to be back on it. I installed and ran into all of the issues in the previous messages.
After the point I flashed the January stock firmware;
1) I opened an elevated Command Prompt in the directory of the most recent platform-tools and loaded into Powershell
2) I entered ./adb reboot bootloader
3) I used ./fastboot flash vendor_boot vendor_boot.img
4) Entered ./fastboot reboot recovery
5) Within recovery on my phone I chose the ADB Sideload option
6) Back in Powershell I entered ./adb sideload filename.zip (Obviously you just need the file name from your download..)
After that everything just worked.
Before this exact process I tried manually changing my PATH to the newest adb.exe and ran into all the same issues folks have already mentioned regardless. I am not sure what this hiccup was but the moment I ran the commands with the ./ prefix in an elevated PowerShell terminal within the directory of the platform-tools, it worked fine.
I found the freezing disappeared once I connected to a USB 2.0 port instead of trying to use a spare USB 3.0 A port. Seems strange but is likely having to do with the differences between the USB 2.0 and 3.x protocol?
TL/DR
Make sure you are in the right directory of the most recent platform-tools, open POWERSHELL as Administrator and use the ./ prefix before your fastboot/adb commands like people have mentioned already and this WILL work..

Apparently this was resolved by formatting data before starting the sideload. I've updated the installation instructions to reflect that, good luck.
I'm curious on your process. Also since this is a mixed thread of pixel six's. What phone do you actually have?
I have P6P, rooted with Stock Jan boot.img patched. Used FKM to flash kernel.
Pull boot.img from Jan stock .zip, patch with magisk and flash in fastboot

I like the 6pro (hardware/aka phone) but I didn't like the stock firmware at all. I usually run LOS or something like evolution if I can't get LOS running properly (AOSP). The problem with LOS is you lose all the pixel goodies (for the most part). Sure add-ons and such can be installed to get those pixel features back with LOS (the best you can), but it's just not the same with my 6pro. My 4XL was fine with LOS because it wasn't as powerful and lacked the 6pro features. Until I found Evo, I was actually unhappy with my 6pro and I'm usually a vanilla AOSP guy so this is a change.
NOW skip ahead to today (and I am only on my 3rd day with evo), and I'm LOVING my 6pro now. This ROM gives it exactly what I was looking for and what was lacking in my 6pro with AOSP/LOS. Evolution is fast, feature rich, with tons of cool theming options (built-in so nothing extra to install), with lots of tweaks. I even found the battery life is better than with LOS (I use stock kernels for LOS/Evo) so it's not kernel related, but ROM related. This is a fantastic ROM and put together REALLY well! I haven't hit a single bug, hiccup, or otherwise any issues at all! I'm thrilled, and I'm enjoying my 6pro FINALLY!! I even took the OTA yesterday with no issues and ROOT worked with MAGISK installed to the second slot (OTA)! It just worked without issues, and that's rare to have everything work without a single bug! It was a hard loss with my 4XL when it was run over, as that was my favorite phone to code/dev on, until Evo with 6pro, now I'm happy and can move on from my 4XL world (coding).
Evolution (this ROM) definitely has my full support and recommendations! If you're reading this, and looking for a stable, fast, incredibly themed ROM, this is it!! Excellent job AnierinB, this is phenomenal!2
Hmm I'll look into it (I always like options), but I'm thrilled with evo and my 6pro! Evo is perfect for me with just the right options I need and Evo has everything working flawless for the things I need to work (meaning showstoppers). I'll look into RisingOS and check it out but I probably won't jump from Evo. I'm really happy with it and how runs my 6pron1
evo x is a great rom but i personally prefer risingos because it has a little more customisation -
8WOW, I just read through this entire forum thread, every page, word for word (to get up to speed with my PX6Pro) before I flashed it. I did this so I don't have to come here and re-ask the same damn question (a 100th time), instead I RESEARCH it prior!
I have to say, I am always amazed to see how many greedy, selfish, and unthankful people there are in this world. Us DEVS do this on our OWN time, yet some of you think we OWE it to you. We waste our time to deliver custom ROMs, apps, scripts, ETC., to users with asking for ANYTHING in return. This time could be better spent with our families, or work, or having fun, so NO, we don't owe you a damn thing! This post isn't pointed to any one person, so no one take offense per se, BUT COME, show a little gratitude, or thanks, instead of all the pointless BS! WE need to be kissing the devs butts, to have them continue to bake the ROMs for us. I won't do it anymore, I gave up years ago, after baking ROMs since ICS, but I could NOT HANDLE the attitudes of the users. The demands, demands, demands, with little to no thanks, and getting back NOTHING but grief, so please be careful. If we lose this dev, we won't have this ROM anymore. I am just asking users to wake up and be polite, use a little common courtesy, do some research PRIOR to asking, and do NOT demand, but be thankful!

I like the 6pro (hardware/aka phone) but I didn't like the stock firmware at all. I usually run LOS or something like evolution if I can't get LOS running properly (AOSP). The problem with LOS is you lose all the pixel goodies (for the most part). Sure add-ons and such can be installed to get those pixel features back with LOS (the best you can), but it's just not the same with my 6pro. My 4XL was fine with LOS because it wasn't as powerful and lacked the 6pro features. Until I found Evo, I was actually unhappy with my 6pro and I'm usually a vanilla AOSP guy so this is a change.
NOW skip ahead to today (and I am only on my 3rd day with evo), and I'm LOVING my 6pro now. This ROM gives it exactly what I was looking for and what was lacking in my 6pro with AOSP/LOS. Evolution is fast, feature rich, with tons of cool theming options (built-in so nothing extra to install), with lots of tweaks. I even found the battery life is better than with LOS (I use stock kernels for LOS/Evo) so it's not kernel related, but ROM related. This is a fantastic ROM and put together REALLY well! I haven't hit a single bug, hiccup, or otherwise any issues at all! I'm thrilled, and I'm enjoying my 6pro FINALLY!! I even took the OTA yesterday with no issues and ROOT worked with MAGISK installed to the second slot (OTA)! It just worked without issues, and that's rare to have everything work without a single bug! It was a hard loss with my 4XL when it was run over, as that was my favorite phone to code/dev on, until Evo with 6pro, now I'm happy and can move on from my 4XL world (coding).
Evolution (this ROM) definitely has my full support and recommendations! If you're reading this, and looking for a stable, fast, incredibly themed ROM, this is it!! Excellent job AnierinB, this is phenomenal! -

First Time Install
1. Download vendor_boot & rom for your device from here

Q: Why am I getting "error cannot read" while attempting to sideload the ROM
Well, you should be using the latest platform-tools and have it added to PATH. A lot of unofficial drivers floating around on the internet install outdated adb/fastboot along with the drivers. Please refrain from installing these as well as minimal adb & fastboot; Use the official google driver and official platform-tools instead.
Alternatively you can prefix each adb/fastboot cmd with./while in the platform-tools folder via powershell or bash, etc.
For example:
./adb sideload ./rom.zip
This basically tells the shell "Hey, I want to execute this local binary rather than the one in PATH".

No, we will not be releasing builds in that format due to a handful of reasons; The main reason being that it is not able to be installed via OTA and is incompatible with our official devices infrastructure.

Custom Kernels:
Custom kernels may be flashed at YOUR OWN RISK. However, we will not provide extended support regarding such and it is up to YOU, the end user to make your reports in the appropriate thread for X kernel, not in this thread.
Obtaining root:
Let it be known that we will not assist anyone with bug reports until they have disabled all modules and restored to the default, unpatched kernel that is shipped with the ROM!
Root can be obtained by either one of the following methods.
1. Download the Magisk.apk on your pc (you can change the file extension to .zip if you wish, though it is not required.
2. Reboot to recovery
3. Navigate to Apply update -> Apply from ADB
4. adb sideload magisk.apk (replace "magisk" with actual filename)1. Download the full rom.zip from post #2 of this thread
2. Download payload-dumper-go that corresponds to the architecture of your pc
3. Run payload-dumper-go against the rom.zip
4. Grab boot.img from the extracted folder and transfer it to your device
5. Patch the boot.img with the magisk application and transfer the patched image to your pc
6. Reboot to bootloader
7. fastboot flash boot boot.img (replace "boot" with actual filename)
When an OTA update is available, let it download and install. Before rebooting simply open Magisk Manager and click on the first "install" button and select "install to inactive slot". Once it's done, reboot and enjoy.
Reporting bugs and submitting logs:
In most cases logs should be provided when reporting bugs. This can be done by enabling USB debugging in developer options of the device, connecting it to your PC and running one of the following cmds depending on the type of bug/issue while reproducing it:
General system log
adb logcat > logcat.txt
Kernel log
adb shell su -c dmesg > dmesg.log
Please provide a detailed description of the bug/issue as well as link/upload the log you had taken.
There are exceptions to this as some issues are unable to be caught in logs. In this case, it is expected that users provide clear and accurate steps to reproduce the issue.
Getting involved in the development:
We've set everything up in such a way where all you need to do is install AOSP build dependencies, initialize a repo client, init the tiramisu-pixel branch of our manifest, sync the code and lunch your device (e.g lunch evolution_cheetah-userdebug); Roomservice will automatically sync all device specific dependencies for you to compile without error. There is no need to manually clone anything due to this and applies to Pixel 6, 6 Pro, 6a, 7 & 7 Pro (oriole, raven, bluejay, panther & cheetah).
Device and ROM source changes can be submitted on github to the appropriate repositories by making pull requests via comparing forks. Please follow the google patch format for commits and triple check your changes by compile testing and verifying they're correct. Please retain proper authorship if you are not the author!
