I'll be taking a break from reading this thread until the next security patches (probably next week). All these new users just wanna nitpick on inclusions and additional features while others just can't seem to understand the concept of encryption and rooting.

These new replies are full of convoluted information and issues that aren't even experienced by the community as a whole and I'm not gonna waste more time reading everything.

No more requests and no more "can this be done" or "can I do this instead?". Either use the ROM as is or move to another.

I get your frustration, but a bug report is a bug report and not nitpicking. Just because you may or may not be able to replicate it, it doesn't make it nitpicking but it's a courtesy to let you know of that issue and ask the community of any workarounds, until you may find the time and priority to fix the issue.

My suggestion: have you thought of an issue tracker (e.g. issues in GitHub)? This way it's easier to keep an overview. I don't think spamming everything in one thread is a good idea, especially not personal installation issues.

Before anyone forgets, THIS IS A HOBBY. I'm being paid by NO ONE to fix all the issues users mention here in this thread.

1. Sorry - I didn't know that! Completely understand your reasoning then. I didn't recognize the app as it looks different from the EU one I had I think.
2. In Settings > Safety & Emergency > Emergency SOS > "Try a demo" you can try this functionality without triggering an actual emergency call. However for me this does absolutely nothing, no error/log or anything I could provide unfortunately.

I didn't know you maintain the whole ROM either - good to know. Of course I know this is a hobby and nothing you can make a living of, and as I said I get your frustration. Maybe there are people in this forum who may help you out on a voluntary basis (as well) to maintain this thread? I guess this is already the case, but if you read each and every response anyways I get that it's cumbersome. To be perfecly honest, I wouldn't mind if you keep off the thread anyways (for support), any response from you is a gift to the community. I do hope that you know that I appreciate your work and I'm sure so does everyone who uses your ROM.

If you have any other ideas to reduce your workload here let us know - I'm sure the community is happy to help you.

I found the issue for the emergency function not working as intended; Follow up for anyone having this issue as well (5x sleep button emergency not working):

As a workaround, make sure to disable the following option:
Settings > The Evolver > Toggle flashlight when screen is off

If you have this option enabled, the functionality unfortunately won't work.

You need to flash DFE (Disable Force Encryption) file from recovery (and you need to do that with OTG or with ADB comands, cause you are encrypted right now)

You could just flash unofficial orange fox via fastboot. Worked for me.

You should just ignore them, you'll always have people like that. In terms of the ROM performance, I have to say it's amazing, battery life is much better, no lag whatsoever or anything I personally had any issues with, along with plenty of features. Only issue I had was encrypted storage, which was easily fixed and not related to the ROM itself.

Yesterday, I clean flashed latest build (01/25/23) from scratch, but I'm still having the same problem. After inserting the credentials (identity & password) and setting to accept the certificate at first use the WiFi start "Connecting" but wont connect and the status go to "Saved", then it loops between "Connecting" and "Saved" without ever connecting to the wifi.

I was expecting a popup asking me to accept the certificate with its details to continue, as it was on Android 12, but this popup never show up.

I attach some log (hoping you can help me).

Look, I'm probably not gonna solve this at all. It's an isolated issue and no one else has reported connection errors with their Work WiFi or any certificate-related stuff. I'll try to revert a commit but that's the extent of it.

Thanks mate. If you don't mind me asking, how are you doing the sideloads and does it mean that you are losing any data that you've already got on it?

get android platform tools with adb.exe
connect phone to computer, download rom to same folder as platform tools / adb.exe
in recovery activate ADB Sideload
on pc run command from CMD adb.exe sideload "file name"
this is not an exact guide just a reminder on what adb sideload is.

Hello and sorry if this has already been answered, I just couldn't find a solution in the thread.

The ROM works very smooth and I'm happy with the performance, but one very minor issue I noticed is that adaptive icons in the default Launcher don't work.
For example the Calendar app icon doesn't update it's date.
The Clock app icon doesn't change according to the actual time.

I am using the default icon pack. I tried using customs icon packs and I tried restarting the phone but it didn't help.
The only time this seems to update is when the icon pack or icon size is changed in the Evo X Launcher settings. But it just updates once and stays like that.
I know I could use a custom launcher and this is basically a nitpick, but I'd be happy if someone can offer a solution for this.

As sob0 told you, you need to flash the DFE zip file (Disable Force Encryption). TWRP and OrangeFox are both fine, there was no need to switch

Look in this thread or online for a DFE zip file, then flash it in your recovery (which is OrangeFox)

Which version of orangefox do you have installed? I had to use unofficial ofoxR11.1_2 for my storage to be decrypted properly.

Indeed, I used an official version of OrangeFox "[email protected]_4.zip" and this morning following this message, I downloaded this version "OrangeFox-R11.1_2_FBEv1-Unofficial-raphael.zip" that I flashed using this tuto: https://www.tutoriels-android.net/2022/10/installer-orangefox-recovery.html.

And everything is back in order. I finally see my folders and files. And I just rooted my phone with Magisk by renaming the apk to zip.

Actually I reported this issue a while ago, it's related to android 13 as I didn't have issues with connecting on android 12. Android does no longer trust certificates as much as before.

The workaround for this is to click the certificate section in the credentials screen and select "trust on first use", you need to do this each time you connect but hey it works! I'll try to automate it with Tasker if I find a way to do so.
