Hi !

With this TWRP version I have an issu : it asks for a password because of encryption and my pin code doesn't unlock it as it does with 3.6.1 TWRP. Do you have the same issue ?
Hi, I usually in the past format data, then reboot back to recovery (twrp) then do full wipe, dalvik, cache etc (full wipe) then flash the rom. The password issue is related to the data partition so normally a wipe sorts that problem out. Just bare in mind it will completely wipe everything but it's worked for me on many occasions. Please note do at your own risk, just have to add that bit you should already be aware when using custom Roms. Hope I've helped and please let me know😊

Thanks for the advice. Are you sire it still works ? Doesn't the rom reinstall recreate the same data partition ? 2 days ago there was a security update and it didn't manage to just update this security update (I suppose because of the twrp + root) then it reinstalled the full rom (but no data wipe in between), I had to reinstall TWRP + magisk. When you reflash the rom (I suppose with adb tools) does it also erase the twrp ?

Finally got the chance to install the ROM, and I've used it for 2 days. Here are my pros and cons (or bugs) for the ROM:

    Pros:
    • It's Android 13! Latest security update as well.
    • Animations and fluidity is so much better than MIUI.
    • Battery life is almost exactly like it is in MIUI. Charging speed seems to be the same too.
    • GCam (MGC_8.1.101_A9_GV2b) works on the device like it did on MIUI (although, my GCam couldn't detect the macro lens, but I don't use that excuse of a lens anyway).
    • No issues on Wi-Fi or mobile data. I don't use VoLTE though.
    • Actually has multitasking, unlike MIUI.
Overall just so much better than MIUI. I love it. Absolutely daily driver material.

    Cons (or Bugs):
    • The Battery Usage statistics section has bugged percentages. (for example, Twitter used 6,442% of my battery lol)
    • The double tap to wake/sleep feature only works for a few seconds after the device goes to sleep. Double tapping the screen does nothing after that. Have to wake the device up using the power button.
    • The recents app switcher sometimes bugs out when using full screen gestures. Have to swipe to home around 2 more times to fix. Rare bug.
    • The Brightness slider in the quick settings works with no issues but the visual animation of swiping the bar is buggy. The bar moves by itself while adjusting and tries to go back to it's initial state before adjusting brightness. Again, this bug doesn't change the brightness, it's just a visual bug.
    • The display flickering bug is not fixed. It only happens sometimes but unlike MIUI, it even happens at around 40-50% brightness. Doesn't bother me too much though.
    • Can't adjust volume in full screen games. In my case, it was ProgressBar95, a fullscreen portrait game. I could only adjust the volume during the first few seconds of booting the game up but clicking the volume buttons did nothing after that. Have to swipe back to home to adjust volume. This didn't happen in MIUI on the same game.
    • The camera randomly stopped working for me in all apps (GCam, Snapchat, etc.). I had to restart the phone to fix that. I didn't do anything to cause it.
    • (Kinda Minor) Twitter is a bit laggy when booted up and scrolled. It takes a while for it to become smooth. Not the case in MIUI.
    • (Minor) There is no gesture to bring up the notification shade using the fingerprint sensor. No swiping gesture nor a double tap gesture like in MIUI.
    • (Minor) There is a lot of empty space under GBoard even after making the pill invisible. I think this is because Evolution X A13 might not have the functionality of completely removing the bottom bar, not just visually.
    • (Minor) Full screen navigation gesture vibration is really low, and non-existent for the back gesture. Should be around 15 ms in my opinion.
    • (Minor) The 4G and LTE icons are too big in the status bar.
    • (Minor or Unsupported idk) 60 FPS video doesn't work in my GCam. Nor do any of the slow motion options.
These are all bugs that can be looked over, especially since a lot of Evolution X features have not been implemented in the Android 13 version yet. They are really minor, but I just felt like I should mention them since the end user deserves to be aware of everything they might face when using the ROM.

In conclusion, my experience with the ROM has been great. Stock Android will never not be a great experience. Thanks, etylix! Fantastic ROM!
