radioactive and despair kernel seemed to be fine without that much messing around, if u want to, u could use kirisakura by flashing the stock rom's boot image after patching it with magisk and then flashing the kernel
would i have to do this after every OTA though?radioactive and despair kernel seemed to be fine without that much messing around, if u want to, u could use kirisakura by flashing the stock rom's boot image after patching it with magisk and then flashing the kernel
idk ive never done an ota with a custom kernel, but id assume u just reflash the kernel, idk about kirisakura tho
What rom/kernel are you running?idk ive never done an ota with a custom kernel, but id assume u just reflash the kernel, idk about kirisakura tho
lineageos with despair kernel currently, wanna jump to risingos when they have a working build
Today, i experienced the same exact problem after a reboot. This is caused by the SIM card. I removed sim tray and phone booted up fine. If you enter the SIM card after the phone has successfully booted SIM works as expected. This is a very serious bug!Cause I needed the device, not only the data, I had to wipe now.
All fine, but after installing latest magisk apk (26.1), I rebooted and then I had the same phenomenon like after ota update: rom booted up and I only saw time and battery symbols of the upper notification bar and the gesture bar blinking several times... thought it will stuck again (like after installing magisk 26.1 before reboot after ota update), but it shows the "enter pin code" box and booting finish then.
After every reboot I now have the 3 symbols blinking multiple times before finishing boot progress.
Dont know if magisk is the reason for this. But this blinking caused the originally problem. Someone have an idea whats the cause?
Edit: Using Canary build of magisk causes reboot while booting, next boot also blinking symbols + reboot, then os starts after multiple blinking symbols.
Are there problems with latest ROM + Magisk? First boot without magisk works fine. Testing now to reboot multiple times after rom installation without magisk.
Edit: When just installing the ROM clean like described, the system ui keeps stopping alle the time.
Dont know whats exactly wrong with the ROM or Magisk. Someone else has problems with Pixel 6a and the new ROM?
Edit again:
OK... new ROM from april does not work fine with pixel 6a. The upper named ui stoppings are the cause for the bliniking and reboot problems I think.
The older ROM evolution_bluejay-ota-tq1a.230205.002-03030851-unsigned.zip is working fine after flashing, even with magisk.
Others should be able to reproduce this.
For me, I have to stay on march version and hope it will be fixed for the next update.
My conclusion: Seems I did nothing wrong, only the ROM wont work fine this time. But I dont know, why April ROM + Magisk 26.1 works but with this blinking symbols at every booting...

exact same happens to me in pixel experience rom. I've videos to prove itRlly?
Next time I hope someone will test it before I do. How do you found out? I won't update until next version.
It should be a problem on your side. No problems for me too.
I'm having this issue on my raven device... Installed it fresh, coming from stock but it has this problem. Sometimes, if I try to open the shutdown dialog the issue is gone and the PIN screen appears like nothing has happened. I'm currently using it this way but I'm waiting for an update that'll fix this because I can't just pray that my phone will be able to restart every timeWow..... just like I expected. OS broken. Nice.
Just did it this way:
1. installing OTA in settings-system after unhide magisk.... funny thing, OS did not reboot although there was the message OS will reboot to recovery.
2. installation was complete... just like you said, i did not follow the reboot command and closed the reboot action to install magisk to the inactice slot.
3. rebooted OS
4. twice rebooting cause some kind of google/system updates
5. in the end of rebooting device stucks... got some 2-4 times blinking symbols and then bootloop.
6. recovery message: cant load system: data may be corrupt.
7. tried to sideload rom + magisk --> same failure.
seems I have to reinstall the phone completly now
It was just too easy that it could work. Now I have the situation which I expected will happen when updating the phone.
Edit: Device is booting until the Evolution animation symbol and is loading for 10-15 seconds, then I get a black screen, device reboots.
I have no more idea what was wrong with the update or where I did a mistake.
How do I get my data now? Its really ****ed up. I just trusted, that a simple update would not crash the whole OS. I always make backups.... but just not this time for this simple update... there are so many important data on the phone...
As per the changelog, the updater has been disabled in preparation for a14.So just OTA updated and lost "System Updater" from System. I still got the Evolver and Pixel Parts, just the update is now gone.
Should I just adb sideload the zip?
