I flashed this rom but I'm having screen burn in. I used to have it in reloaded too but now I'm again on reloadedOS and the screen burn isn't as bad as it was in arrow a13. If I stayed on anything for like 5 seconds, it was stuck on screen for some seconds. My brightness wasn't high and night mode didn't helped either. I wonder why this happens. Also, screen burn is not so intense in miui and reloadedOS. Can't say about other ROMs as I haven't used many of them.
Go settings- xiaomi parts- display color calibration and enable use KCAL then set values to 240-240-240. Then your problem needs to be solved. You can try 235 also.

Alright, will try that next time I'm in arrow. Btw I'm back on reloaded right now and the screen burn isn't as bad. It happens but takes a lot of time. I am even running boosted colors right now without night light and high brightness, waiting for screen burn to happen but it isn't happening for some reason. This is very strange because I thought the effect should be equal with every rom. Also in stock rom I rarely noticed screen burn. But I can understand for stock roms, they are always optimised for stability.

Is your phone defective? I haven't seen this before. I can imagine it's very annoying.

I don't think so. Right now it's working really well so far. One of my relative has the same phone and their device also has this issue. They are running the stock ROM and still the screen burn happens to them a lot while with my phone I rarely saw screen burn in stock ROM.

No your screen is fine. It happens on tianma panels. This problem happens on redmi note 7 too.

It's about kernel I think not rom. It's called screen ghosting and happens when you stay on fixed things on screen with full brightness. Maybe they are configured kernel before on that roms. For me that was happening on stock rom and never faced after kcal settings. Hope solves your problem.

Is there any way to change the auto brightness? In low lit rooms (rather than dark) it's hard to read the screen.
I'm also interested in a solution for this. It's especially problematic when I use the phone for navigation at night. A part from that, the rom is very good: it's smooth and the battery managment is good. I've only had sporadic app crashes but they might very well have been due to the apps themselves

Yeah I'm very happy with it otherwise but it's annoying to have to manually turn up the brightness every time I open it in the evening.

I have the same problem. In a dark room, the lowest brightness level is extremely low. All AOSP roms I tried have this problem.
I haven't come across it before, coming from official Lineage and HavocOS (on redmi note 5) before that.
I noticed that there was a mention of the auto brightness in the changelog a while ago and I wonder if that's the cause, perhaps the tweak was a bit too aggressive.

A bug I found in this rom and how to reproduce it:
Enable gesture navigation.
Open default launchers settings and in app drawer section of settings toggle search bar on or off (depends on whether you have already disabled or enabled it) once. Swipe up to go homescreen.
The Launcher should crash now, and your swipe gesture to go home and open recent apps should stop working.
To fix, simply open settings from qs panel, and enable 3 button navigation.
Happening with me 100% accuracy.

Apart from the low brightness bug, I have found this rom to be really good in every other area. The smoothness is at its best. Seriously, some might say caf roms are better for smoothness, but in my experience, this rom is smoother than both reloaded and paranoid Android. The rom is too smooth. I can't even explain it. If you try some other roms and then come back to it then you'll understand what I'm talking about. And no bugs. UI is very consistent, looks clean and beautiful. Totally in love with this rom.

So I had my 10 day run on arrowOS a13, and now I am going to change rom. I found this ROM to be very smooth. That's the best thing about this rom: smoothness. This ROM has double tap to sleep, which I like, but no expand qs on swiping from right or left, though I found that I barely need it. MIUI cam is included and slow-mo works which is nice. Only one bug: Chrome and brave both get zigzag lines while switching tabs, and that really annoys me. I tried using bromite and iceraven, but I just want to go back to chrome. So much data on chrome, that I can't make easy switch for now. So I will try some other rom now.
If you are someone looking for complete stability (keep in mind the one bug I mentioned above), and a smooth rom for our device, then arrowOS is the pick for you.

Now I fear that I won't find a rom as smooth as this :p

Redmi Note 8
finally installed Arrow13 (replaced PE13). ROM is smooth, (few features are missing in arrow and few in PE) but below are not working:

1. Parallel space only works with default arrow launcher. Parallel apps doesn't show up in Nova Launcher.

2. App lock doesn't seems to work at all. Not sure what I am missing.

Please fix...thank you for gr8 ROM.

Installed versión 13 two days ago (dirty flash), it is very smooth. However, ram management is outrageous, my phone has only 3GB of ram. It is back to miui, everything reloads and more free ram.
To go back to version 12 a clean flash is needed?
All the issues I was experiencing were because no clean install. I gave A13 another try and it's working fine. Maybe there is a small difference in ram management, but might be because I only have 3gb of ram.
Other than that great Rom, Thanks to the devs.

Which one to install? Official A13 build from 10th January or Experiments A13 build from 23rd February?
Feburary build comes with february security patch and source side changes only. It's experimental tagged because earlier official one (it's now deleted from arrowos website) had a bug with camera. It fixed in that build. So you can install both of them. Choise is yours.

    ABOUT
    ArrowOS
is an Android Open Source Project-based Android mobile operating system started with the aim of keeping things simple, clean, neat, and organized, both for the Android system and users. We added features that will be helpful in the long run, while aiming to deliver smooth performance and longer battery life. We understand the pain of unnecessary and sometimes rarely used mods/features being shipped with custom ROMs nowadays which may end up causing battery drains and/or memory leaks & crashes. This is being strictly avoided on our side keeping everything to a bare minimum, delivering stable performance all the time without destroying the AOSP interface. With users getting more used to tweaks and features, we added just the right features and customisations that will be actually USEFUL at the end of the day.
