I ask you because I have not yet found a solution to these "problems" (problems for me....):

1) "Hey Google" doesn't work for me. If I say "Hey Google" or "Ok Google" nothing happens, both on the lock screen and with the phone unlocked. The only way to wake-up the assistant is to hold down the center button. If I disable assistant activation via this key it still does not activate with voice. Is there some setting to change or does it not work for you too? Obviously I reset the voice model and the options for the assistant is active.

2) I have a MI Band 4 connected to MI9 via bluetooth (I receive messages, call notification, etc....). I set the smartphone unlock via Bluetooth and the MI Band has been added as a trusted device in Smart Lock. Sometimes I double click on the screen and swipe up and the phone unlocks, other times it asks me to enter the PIN, as if the Bluetooth unlock wasn't active. Do you have any suggestions?

Hello from Brazil!

I think you have set Google assist again in Google app - Settings - Google assist Settings - voice match.

2 - You have to :

- go to Settings
- security
- more security options (Last option)
- smart lock

Then you add your MI band again.

Again I had already checked that maybe set like this. I tried to remove the Mi Band from Smart Lock and add it again, but the problem remains, sometimes the smartphone is unlocked with a swipe, sometimes I have to enter the PIN. Obviously the Mi Band is in both cases close to the phone. Could it be that for some energy saving setting the Bluetooth goes into standby?

Well, after 5 flashes, this ROM works great for about 3 or 4 days. Them started to get ready low performance, slow animation, really bad. The phone gets stuck at AOD a lot. I did 5 clean installs. No magisk.

Maybe it's the same problem I had.

At night, when the phone is not used, it gets black screen, unresponsive. I tried the power button screen and it looks like a line of code at the top of the screen for a few seconds.
I tried forcing a restart, it wouldn't recognise the SIM card.
I forced restart again, it was fine.

Has anyone had this problem?

I think the problem I reported earlier is also related to this one.

Is there a solution?

I don't use magisk, nor root.
I have UDFPS with screen off enabled, could that be it?

A lot of people is complaining about it for very long time and still no fix has been discovered. You can look for details on PixelExperience or crDroid forum.


It doesn't matter if you have magisk or not - it's a kernel issue.

Moreover the phone freeze occurs randomly so you can't predict it (sometimes every 2 weeks, sometimes every 2 days...).

This definitely is the best custom ROM I've ever tried. I'm using it it's been weeks and it's still fluid, fast, battery-friendly and stable.

A question for you (no answers in my previous posts): does Google Assistant work for you? I can't activate it by voice (but is enabled). I can use it only holding the central button.

    * VoWiFi calls working only if mobile signal is available.
    * Some users found the device unresponsive after long periods of inactivity needing to force rebooot the device. Not happening to everybody and no often at all.

    PLEASE DO NOT FLASH GAPPS, THEY ARE ALREADY INCLUDED

    First Time Install / Clean Flash    ​
    1. Download the proper ROM ZIP for your device
    2. Reboot to recovery (     these with decryption support are recommended)
    3. Install the     latest firmware if not already installed
    4. Format Data if you come from retrofit, EROFS or A12 in any case, and any other situation if your Data is encrypted
    5. Wipe Data,Cache and Dalvik cache
    6. Flash the ROM
    7. Install Magisk if you want (v25.2 or newer are recommended)
    8. Install the     ForcedEncryption disabler if you want to keep your Data unencrypted
    9. Reboot to System and #KeepEvolving

    Update / Dirty Flash from the system's updater app​
    You can install OTA update from the system's updater app if your Data is encrypted, you only need the current EvolutionX recovery for Cepheus or a compatible recovery like the ones recommended above. If you acomplish these requirements, go to Settings/System/Updates, check for updates, download it if available and apply it, the system will do the rest rebooting in recovery, installing the update and rebooting the system.
    It's not recommended to update using the system's updater app if you disabled the forced encryption previously since the process described above doesn't include the encryption disabler so your device wouldn't boot the system after installing the update and you would be stuck in the recovery being forced to Format Data and re-install the ROM.​

    Update / Dirty Flash manually from the custom recovery​
    1. Download the proper ROM ZIP for your device
    2. Reboot to recovery (these with decryption support are recommended)
    3. Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache
    4.Flash the ROM
    5. Install the ForcedEncryption disabler if your data was non encrypted before
    6. Install Magisk if you want (v25.2 or newer are recommended)
    7. Reboot to System and #KeepEvolving
