FIX FOR GOOGLE CAMERA:
everyone who installed this room must've noticed that gcam app does not work properly and the inbuilt camera that came with the rom sucks!

Here's what I did to make the gcam run perfectly:

1. Download gcam version 8.2 from Nikita gcam's telegram page.
2. Install it and once if you open it, you can notice that the camera section of the app is extremely slow that it moves at almost 0.5 frames per second. This makes camera unusable.
3. Now to fix this, go to settings - advanced
- experimental - then disable the ' force raw sensor format' option
4. Boom! Your camera will run perfectly

But wait we're not there to get perfect photos yet.

Once after taking photos, again we notice some artifacts. There is a dot like pattern on all over the image. Luckily there IS a way to fix this too!

1. Go to settings
2. Advanced
3. Experimental
4. Scroll down and you'll find an option named 'pref_erasedots_key'
5. Enable it
6.Boom! The dot like pattern is fixed!

Now, coming to the selfie camera, you might notice that the photo is filled with vertical lines. No matter what you try, it stays like that. There is a fix for it too!
But, you have to be rooted with magisk for this to work.

1. Download this magisk module

2. Flash it in magisk and reboot.
3. Clear storage of gcam

And it's done. All these tweaks must be made to have the correct gcam experience or else it's very buggy.

It took me a lot of effort to figure this out and I found out that in the previous version of pixel experience, ie PE 12, the developer integrated the dotdix module within the rom. if the developer of this rom, ie. Adithya Singh finds a way to include it, then we can use camera without issues in this rom.

Mine crashes specifically on the reels section. Scrolling through feeds is fine though.
I was on beta and switched back to the normal Instagram version, but the issue still exists.
I am still using the pixel experience ROM.

Strange, it's fine here. If you want you can get me logs of the crash to look into

Till now, I've only tested plus version. In it, I had excellent battery performance for its age. I think maybe there is some issue with your rom or it's a you-issue. If you can, try the plus variant and check.

Hey @NikhilYT i am using the plus variant of the Rom. The latest build. My Oneplus 5 becomes unusable at times because of bad constant battery drain. As mentioned previously stock rom was fine In terms of battery performance but this rom drains battery lile anything. Screen on time of 1.30hrs drops battery from 100% to 70%. I am attaching the screenshots from the inbuilt battery usage option. Let me know what kind of screen on time you are getting?

Ps- My battery is kind of new as I have replaced the battery from OP a year ago.

This has been fixed with a Google play update.
ROM has few minor bugs which is not that annoying except major battery drain issue which am facing.

Hey! My phone doesn't have this battery drain issue and it is acceptable that a 6 year phone with just 3300 mah battery won't last that long. But for me, without playing games, it lasts a whole day from morning 8 am to the next morning 8am. That is crazy 24hrs. My main usage is YouTube, reddit and some other apps that's it. But when I play games, the poor battery can't keep up and drains fast so I have to charge atleast 2 times a day depending on my usage.

So, coming to the battery usage stats, they make zero sense to me and if you know how, check them out:

Yeah, battery usage tab is broken in this rom. The stats are misleading and inaccurate. The devs are doing a good job by making the old phone alive for a few months more but mentioning no issue on the ROM title is rather misleading IMO. I can barely use my phone now. Thinking about buying a new phone(probably Moto edge 40) for myself and re flashing the stock rom in the OP 5 and give it to my mom as stock was stable as hell.

Yo! I have an alternative for you. But the only trade off is that, it's complicated. I mean, you have to change the entire os. I have installed lineage os 20 with mindthegapps and flashed safety net fix(ofc I rooted using magisk). Now, everything including banking apps suprisingly work for me. Then, I installed pixelify magisk module for pixel like experience, look and features. Now, it looks exactly like pe 13 plus, has notification led customisation (complete including brightness), passed safetynet, is battery light and is very customisable. Lol if you are really willing to customize notif led, you can do this ^⁠_⁠^

Hey,@NikhilYT it seems like the screencast works fine on the device. I used it for watching a few youtube videos and photos stuff surprisingly working fine although the phone gets pretty hot while using so and the battery drain is insane .

Bro, I am also utterly frustrated with the battery drain issue neither the dev has any workaround or possible reason for the same. @NikhilYT Are you aware of any Oxygen OS port of Android 10+ for the Oneplus 5 if any?

Rom source issue, I manage device side so the battery usage tab is not something on my hands, the battery drain you are mentioning is happening on every PE device due to GMS drains and overload if a build is more than a month older, so that's not on me too, and it was fine when the build was released. Get some bug from my side then I'll mention it in the post.

It doesn't at all in my phone even in pe 12 plus, it has the same glitch. Damn this sucks

There isn't any tho. If you need a stable os without issue and stability like oxygen os, there is crdroid made with a11. You can check it out if you want.
